So, I found this on Imdb forums: http://vdnh.complex.com/BhYjJqNjE6u7rdnvqWIgWZkgNL9tMjmT/DOcJ-FxaFrRg4gtDEwOmk2OjBrO6qGv_

I love the seires, currently at the end of fourth book, and I had some issues with the changes they made. It's not a finished trailer but I don't know what to think of it. It looks like a Hollywood action film primarily which is not that good. Secondly, it looks like its mostly set in New York. I don't know why because I think Mid-World is very interesting place and it would be great to see it on film. Yeah, second book was placed heavily in New York and I really can't judge the movie by its trailer so lets wait and see. And third it looks like Jake is the main character of the movie. Don't get me wrong I like Jake, he brings so much emotionaly to books and is very relevant to the story, but in the end its Roland's story. Well, I'll have to wait and see the movie for myself.
I didn't even get halfway through the first book :P I really didn't like it at all, so I'm in no way invested in the series. The trailer itself looks terribly bland. Really the only thing that makes me interested at all i Mcconaughey. He was great even in something as silly as Reign of Fire, so I hope he'll be fun to watch here too.
STFU!!!!!! will edit after watching

SOOOOO we aren't gonna follow the books at all and do our own shit. PASS.

I'm really kinda pissed. first they ruined Hitchhicker's and now this. *pouts*

First book is my absolute favorite. it's also the shortest.

I have two fans of King among my friends. One told me to avoid the Dark Tower since even he didn't like it, and the other almost put a price on my head when I told him I didn't like the first book :D

Didn't even realize this was happening. I'm a big Dark Tower fan,(with Wizard and Glass being my favorite of the books). Gonna try and reserve judgement this early, but not happy that it doesn't really seem to be starting out as book 1 does with Roland. From the teaser "trailer", I would be inclined to agree, that it seems to center around Jake...not happy...not happy

As an aside...when/if you get through the main books, pick up and read Wind Through the Keyhole. Nice little extra tale, within a tale. Chronologically speaking, you could also just read it next, as it actually comes between books 4 and 5 ;-).

Oddly, I am not a big fan of most of his other work. Misery, and a couple others are okay, but I find a lot of his horror suspense stuff kinda crappy

I just read that too! Jake is suppose to be from the 70s!! what is the 9/11 stuff?! And if his dad is dead, this takes away from such a crucial part of his backstory (absent parents, etc). I'm NOT pleased as this is one of my favorite series. SIGH.

They only ruined Hitchhikers, if you watched the last version.
If you didn't, job's a good 'un! ;)

As for this film, got the books but not started them yet, so I can wait, or completely ignore, the film for a long time :)

Typical of Kings books that though, some are dreadful windbags, others (rarities?) aren't.

i was watching the first on youtube and was enjoying them a great deal :) but yes, i was referring to the most recent bit of terrible.
I still haven't read the last book. I just got pissed off by King self inserting into the story. >_<
I really can't stand McConaughey and avoid every production with him.
Although a big fan of King (already read most of his books), I've never started the Dark Tower series even though it was recommended to me by my local bookseller. I guess I'll just wait for the motion picture since nowadays I can't read as much as I did some years ago.

Not a joke:
I liked Texas Chainsaw The Next Gen.

Of course Mathew refuses to even acknowledge he did it which puts him on my Shit List.

The first book nearly made me give up on the series. Now I'm at Wizard and Glass and I love it so far.
As for the movie, blue-eyed, raven haired Roland is black on the movie, and the blue eyes are central to the story, but who cares... and btw they could've written in Susannah for a black role (since she is in the books), but hey it's Hollywood. I wonder where is Jackie Chan or Jet Li...
