Dark Souls 3 was just announced !!!

No official PC release date yet. The PC-no love fiasco starts all over again :(

They bringed the first game after pettion an and it was a lousy PC port running at 720p 30 fps locked
Thanks to modding community the game looked decent afterwards.

I picked up Bloodborne two weeks ago.. all can i say for now is RECOMMENDED to veterans of the series

I still haven't finished Demon's Souls on PS3 yet! :(

What I`d like, is for someone decent to get hold of it & actually make a PC version.
None of this "your weapon degrades faster because you`re running game at 60/144 fps etc" crap.

NO controller display on screen, if not using a controller.

Real keybinds, not that hideous mess that was DSII.

Better graphics....

Allow mods that improve the game, instead of banning folk for using something to improve it. Or better still, don`t release a messy console port in the first place.

Meh... they were shite compared to Demon's Souls. Not enough quality control and way too many glitches.

Uh, Dark Souls 2's PC version was BY far better than the console version.
If you consider that a bad port, I shudder to think what you would say about actual lousy or bad ports, such as Saints Row 2, which had very bad timing issues, became unplayable fast, and had just a slew of problems, or the original PC port of Resident Evil 4 that was released without a lighting engine.
Or DMC3's port just being completely shit.

Dark Souls 2 on PC ran better, looked better, handled better, had no missing content. Weapons did degrade faster, but that actually fit the playstyle.

Bah, them removing the increased durability damage will make getting the santier spear on future playthroughs more annoying.


Why yes, I will defend the ports of Dark Souls 1 and 2.
Because Dark 1 was the bares bones of all barebones ports, direct, with no enhancements at all (and even then, locked as it was, it ran better than the console version, handled identically, looked identical. So, it was a DIRECT PORT).
They are only "bad ports" if your minimum requirement for a port is Alan Wake, which is a massively improved and overhauled version of the game, and even then, Dark 2 would fit that.

What I want is tha tthey would put Bloodborne on PC. That would be great.

This. Ban threats for modding was the last straw that made me abandon the game.

I'm playing DS2 SoTFS currently. Its my first Souls. I understand shit of the story. The combat system is DEEEEEEEP. My life lies before me. DS2 stands before it, victorious.

For Dark Souls 3, I just have two wish for developers.
1. Please don't make a bad console port for PC.
2. Please release Dark Souls DRM-Free.

Easy is tough
Normal is insane 1 shot from regular trash mobs, last boss is everyone's nightmare exwife

Hard-well this particular last fight is so hard I dont think you can deal enough damage to kill the main boss without dying in the process.

Also only 2 classes of the 3 can attempt the last fight. The sorc will get raped. I have played hard games but dont think anyone will ever be able to beat Da1 on hard.

I'm playing Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin now, technically it's my first in the series if you don't count Bloodborne.

Believe it or not, the souls games actually run on a Sony multiplatform framework. Fuck no. The whole deal with ALL of the Souls games is that they are intentionally vague. And they do not force feed you anything. They do not have any pre-conceived explanation.
It is up to you to decide everything, or to hunt for tidbits. If it actually gave you everything it would lose its strength.
As it is, it has a VERY strong setting rife with openings for interpretation. The stories are very good for what they are. The games were designed with an input in mind.
They can be adapted, but it is going to be awkward, like fighting games on keyboard, doable, but far from ideal.
Or racing games.
Or third person action games such as Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. They can work with mouse and keyboard, but it is never going to be as good as with other input methods.
That being said, not changing the input prompts to keyboard icons is lazy and bad. Even actual bad ports like Saints Row 2 got that right.

Actually, the thing that turns me off from the series (aside from DRM and not owning the console) is the forced competitive multiplayer aspect. In particularly, the game goes out of its way to enable griefing, which is not something I consider fun. Honestly, I refuse to play any game in which a player can negatively impact another game. (Notably, this includes ALL competitive multiplayer games, both physical and computer, with maybe an exception for 0-player games like War.)

It is completely optional. In Dark Souls 1, just stay hollowed. You will never get invaded.
It does not go out of its way for griefing. You need to be in human form for it, and in Dark 2, it goes OUT OF ITS WAY to prevent first playthrough invasions.
Hell, they even give you a simple option to remove ALL online interactions from the start.

Of all the possible complaints, that is one of the silliest. Everything is easily avoidable.
E: Bloodborne goes even farther in that, haha, you cannot be invaded unless you actively invite people (it is a general invitation, helper summons and invaders. It is too restrictive)

If it does come on pc, I would like the see the "DRM-free" element in this game.
