Because their store sucks. I've never given modern epic 1 cent. I plan to continue this trend.

amok: sucks in what way? I give them my monies, they give me the game, I play my game - what's wrong?
Call it personal preference. I don't like how the store is laid out and I have no idea if they ever added a cart or filtered search options. Very turned off by their obvious rush to market with an incomplete product. Much like Galaxy, Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk, among MANY other AAA products. Also, I detest how their library lays out.
Who cares? They will not release the game on GOG.
It's official now it was about the randomizer mode, no GOG surprises.

Dogmaus: ...no ...surprises.
yup... :(

xD
Hahaha, lol, people getting their hopes up about Axiom Verge! xD

Did any of you seriously think that Dan Adelman of all people would TWEET about an impending gog release? xD xD xD xD

toxicTom: Elsewhere you can't buy, only rent.
Nice catchphrase, but wrong on both counts:

- My Epic version is DRM-free, meaning I can back it up on a USB stick or external hard drive just as much as any gog game.
- I didn't have to buy it, I got it for free. :D

I'd have to be a right sucker to pay money for this game IF it ever shows up here, especially considering the contempt and outright hostility their PR guy has shown to this community.

Considering it was barry who caused the whole thing in the first place.
The "conflict" has been resolved in the meantime, though.
There was yet another thread (and one before that) about Axiom Verge last year (which I don't seem to be able to find at the moment) after which there shouldn't be any bad blood left on either party's side. Dan Adelman even officially apologized, iirc.

That's one of them, yep.
The other one with both parties talking it out/coming to terms dates back further, I think around 2018/2019?

So the release basically still hinges on persuading GoG that the (vast) majority of its audience couldn't care less about missing achievements in an eventual non-Galaxy version of Axiom Verge. And that Dan Adelman would actually push for/give a non-Galaxy version of Axiom Verge the green light from the publisher's side, I guess.

Or maybe a version with Galaxy support could still be worked out (or not, I'm sure most people would be perfectly fine with just finally being able to play the game) and then released alongside Axiom Verge 2, which I think is still scheduled for 2021.
EGS doesntt have achievements at all, why would that be a problem here?
