So according to this tweet, Dan Adelman teases about a surprise concerning Axiom Verge (not the sequel).

It would be great if it includes a GOG release announcement, would make a lot of people happy here.

Sad to think people actually waited here sulking instead of just buying it else where. Time doesn't wait for anybody. Enjoy the game whilst you can!

True... But with so much games nowadays it's easy to skip 1 or 2.

They're finally fixing the controls in the Switch port!?

Elsewhere you can't buy, only rent.

Well, I got the physical multiverse edition on the PS4 a couple of years ago. Although I agree with you about the "rent" part, that edition included a nice printed artbook and a poster with a detailed map on the back side.

In any case, I would definitely buy it again on GOG - especially if the soundtrack is included (lucky Switch owners).

Wasn't the Humble Bundle version DRM-free? I seem to recall that was a DRM-free version somewhere and this triggered some people on GOG.
Maybe Twitch or Epic?

Edit: Epic version is DRM-free source GOG Wishlist

The Humble Store version was never DRM-free, unfortunately, only Steam key.

As for Epic, I don't know, I don't have an account.
Axiom Verge is DRM free on EPIC. Sadly I don't like to buy there and missed the freebie. I have plenty of other games and will wait for it here, expecially after someone in the team went after a GOG user just for requesting the game here!

why not buy there?
My guessing is that the surprise is the randomizer for the game, now in beta. apparently the old saves are compatible but the randomizer version itself is a different entity/game. Probably in the future it will be part of the original title.
Considering Dan Adelman's history with the GOG community, I'd be utterly flabbergasted if it turns out the tweet referrers to a GOG release.

However, if it turns out to be a GOG release, I expect everybody here to express their gratitude, since I avoided buying the game on STEAM until now, vowing that I'll only buy it on GOG, which was true until this winter sale, when I slipped and finally bought it there.

Maybe they've gotten over the misunderstanding between them and Barry Woodward. He pestered them about coming to GOG and they assumed he was an undercover PR agent for GOG because most of his Twitter history is contacting Devs about GOG releases. I hope they'd have gotten past that... game belongs here.

Because their store sucks. I've never given modern epic 1 cent. I plan to continue this trend.
