This sale has been quite an eye-opener to me, I didn't realize there are still so many interesting games on GOG for me to buy. Then again, I don't keep track what games keep constantly coming to GOG. I think I've bought a couple dozen games from this sale alone.

EDIT Checked it, I have actually bought 47 new items from this sale alone. Dang! I wonder if this is it, or still more to come?

Still, the bundles haven't been great this time.

Odd, I thought they've been mostly great, especially the newcomers to GOG like the X series.

At least I prefer these kind of sales to all that pinata etc. crap... I like to know what I am buying.

Didn't buy anything in this sale, I am waiting if cultures northland + 8th wonder of the world shows up in the sales since i only now found out that the game cultures had continuations after cultures 2.I am even ignoring anno now i just want the cultures game for a lesser price than it is.
I can still play other games in the meantime until that happens.

It's times like these where it actually is good to be a little zealous about sticking to your purchase plans. We've also got the Winter/Xmas/New Years' sale coming up too...

I don't like gambling promos too, but I'm not also a fan of 67% buy-all discount bundles, when I'm used to more.
That Anno pack was very tempting, though.

It's mainly because I already own too many games. And the newer ones I'm waiting for even bigger discounts.

I'm actually starting to see past that. I feel many games have an inflated base price so that they can often offer it with 75% or 80% discounts. I already turned down a couple of GOG games on this sale which had high discounts, but I felt the base price was inflated.

Of course it is hard to tell what I consider as the proper price for a game, without playing the game first... I just have to rely on what the game looks like on the gamepage, what the reviews say about its gameplay and length, etc.

I'm obviously not reasoning about the total % alone; the good games final price is what matters.
For example, that Interplay pack at 90% was useless to me, because I only needed 3 more games (and I only bought 1 at 60% for 2.5$).

I blame myself, have spent 57,25€ to date from the start of the sale. 15 games + those 3 you get for getting over sums

What do you people do with all that? Seriously, that's like almost my whole wishlist :D I only got two games this time around (+ System Shock), because I desided there's no point in buying more stuff when I still haven't played everything I got from the last sale. And that one was a big one for me, with something like 14 titles bought. Okay, I bought some other games along the way, but only a few.

Mostly to play them, of course. :) Naturally I still buy new games at a much higher rate than I am able to finish them, but oh well. If I see something interesting I'd might like to play at an agreeable price, why not buy it (while I still can)?

It is my own personal library from which I can later freely choose something to play, without having to wait for a new sale for that particular game. Or in some cases the game I would have wanted to play is not even sold anymore. For instance, I am glad I bought XIII from GOG when it was still available here (I've finished it twice), or that I bought the DRM-free version of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines from DotEmu when they were still selling it (yet to play it).

That's also why I consider DRM-freeness pretty important. For games with DRM, I have a much higher threshold to buy them "beforehand", in order to play sometime in the (even far) future. Games with DRM, there I am much more inclined not to buy them until I really want to play them, but sometimes I deviate from that due to those darn Humble Bundles.

Also it might be I have a wider taste for different genres than you? If you really mean that there are only maybe couple dozen GOG games you find even remotely interesting (that you'd actually want to buy them at some point), that sounds awfully little to me. It is easier for me to name game genres which I won't possibly play, than those I like to play.
