TrevorWilliams: the week long sale from DC/Vertigo is on tons of Sandman and Sandman-related greatness.

ET3D: I have Sandman in physical form and Death: The High Cost of Living on my Comixology account. Anything else you recommend highly?
I remember enjoying Destiny and Books of Magic, but it's been quite awhile since I've read them. Haven't read most of the rest iirc.
I'll second the recommendation on Books of Magic. Black Orchid is also very good, although I haven't read it yet myself.

Oh, yes, Black Orchid was amazing. Looking more closely, I also really enjoyed the stories collected in the Midnight Days collection. But in those two, I'm heavily biased towards old school DC superhero fare, so those two books partially reimagining classic DC heroes are right in my wheelhouse.

There's so much here that looks good, unfortunately my budget will only allow a few. Midnight Days does look good to me, but I'll just have to save that for another time. Now if DC will allow DRM-free downloads so we can have these bundled, that would be even better.
How is The Dreaming? Seemingly it's such an auxiliary spinoff that while it might have good standalone stories that's nothing essential, is that a good assessment?

From what I've seen, I would say your assessment is spot on. The series focuses on minor characters from the Dreaming, so if you don't much care for them, you won't be missing much. That's only my opinion though.

Thanks for the updates as usual :D
Shouldn't buying collected editions always be a better deal than buying the corresponding single issues? From comiXology's sale on all things Sandman:

The Sandman, 10 x €5.49 or 76 x €0.89. I haven't looked at the page count difference but buying the collected editions is a €12.74 (19%) savings.

The Sandman: The Dream Hunters, €5.49 (144 pages) or 4 x €0.89 (144 pages). Buying the single issues is a €1.93 (35%) savings.

Death: The Deluxe Edition, €5.49 (315 pages) or 6 x €0.89 (168 pages). The price difference is negligible (€0.15) but the collected edition seems to offer much more content.

Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, €5.49 (221 pages) or 9 x €0.89 (207 pages). The collected edition has a few more pages and is much cheaper (€2.52 or 32%).

The Books of Magic, €5.49 (194 pages) or 4 x €0.89 (198 pages). Buying the single issues is a €1.93 (35%) savings and the page count difference seems insignificant.

Black Orchid, €5.49 (157 pages) or 3 x €0.89 (153 pages). Buying the single issues is a €2.82 (51%) savings and the page count difference seems insignificant.

Is buying digital comics always a bit of a minefield or am I missing something obvious?
I'm afraid it's no different than physical comics. There are almost always differences in content between the single issues and the collections, and the prices are random.
