^ My pleasure everyone.

Comixology has a bundle sale on some Dynamite books until 9/27/15. Some great deals in there, but be careful, as you may own the books at Dark Horse or Groupees or Humble Bundle or etc etc etc
https://www.comixology.com/Dynamite-Bundles-Sale/page/8262

From Marvel, a today only sale on What If ?; $.99 singles on a few different iterations of the series.
https://www.comixology.com/What-If-Sale/page/8269

The weekend Dark Horse collection sale at Comixology is on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
https://www.comixology.com/Avatar-The-Last-Airbender-Sale/page/8280

That will likely be the weekend sale at Dark Horse proper as well, but we'll see in a few hours.

Half tempted by some Dynamite - but then on the flipside there's that thought that something like Red Sonja might be in a future Groupees bundle!

Kind of a pain sitting on the fence on that one - course the bonus of groupees and similar bundles is that you get PDF and downloadable versions (so if the horrific should happen and Comixology shuts down at least you've got some comics that won't be affected and can be locally backed up and accessed).

It is rare than an entire series gets offered in a charity bundle; too often you only get introductory issues. Certainly Red Sonja will be repeatedly bundled more but good luck getting issues 20+.

Well, I don't know if it is the main "Red Sonja" story, but issues 19-34 of "Red Sonja: She-Devil with a Sword" were already featured in the second StoryBundle Dynamite Bundle.

Happy Batman Day everyone!

New freebie at Comixology, a special edition version of Batman: Endgame #1. It includes an all-new 8 page Scott Snyder story available here only.
https://www.comixology.com/Batman-2011-1-Endgame-Special-Edition/digital-comic/287070

Also, today only, eighteen collections are added to the weeklong Batman sale. They are each priced at $3.99, regular price as high as $29.99. I definitely lost some money by not waiting a few days, as many of these collections cover what is currently on sale.

They've let bits of it out but eh I went and bought it now :) I figure at least then I can read it all in one go rather than having it possibly drip fed to me bit by bit (this means that the next big bundle will have all of Red Sonja in it - you just watch it will! :P).

Also Vampire: Requiem is beautiful! I mean really the artwork is fantastic!!!!
S.H.I.E.L.D. Sale from Marvel until 10/1/15.
issues 1-6 of the current series
issues 1-28 (all) and two one-shots of the 2008-2011 series
https://www.comixology.com/S-H-I-E-L-D-Sale/page/8274

From Dynamite and also until 10/1/15, a Mercy Thompson sale, four collections and 26 singles. As always with Dynamite product, you probably bought it cheaper at Dark Horse and/or the various bundle sites.

How's the DRM on the S.H.I.E.L.D. comics? (Marvel isn't in the list of DRM-free publishers.)

Marvel requires comic viewing with-in a mobile/device app (can be offline after download) or the comic may be viewed within a website plugin (which is slower and more cumbersome). Marvel does not allow direct downloads or PDFs. While this might not suite everyone it is the industry standard for digital comics and hard to avoid. Certain publishers like Image offer DRM free downloads but Marvel/DC/Dark Horse have not adopted DRM free strategies.

Also some, like Dynamite, have only parts of the catalogue in their own DRM free distribution network and sadly, like a lot of companies, there isn't much info out there as to when/if things will change - granted this is because its mostly a case of "When we can" but it still makes for a rather broken up distribution - at least if you're aiming for DRM versions only.

Thank you, I'll have to pass on this one then. I was hoping it would be something that would both work in Wine and that would be fairly simple to bypass.

Small note: Comixology does not require any plugin, it's web viewer it's compatible with any modern web browser and it works in Linux.

Not a fan of services required to use content I paid for though. Of course, if it's built on web standards, it should be possible to fetch the images and built a cbz out of them. Might have to try that on a free comic to see if I can figure something out.
