Coelocanth: Anyone know if the Transformers comics in the lowest and BTA tiers are complete storylines? Or, for that matter, what about the ones in the $15 or higher tier? I think my kids might like these, but I'm not particularly interested if they're not complete storylines.
The PWYW Transformers Classics tier includes 46 issues (since Transformers #3 and #9 are omitted due to inclusion of non-licensed Marvel characters) from the 1984-1991 era Marvel Comics printing of Transformers, that series initially ran for 80 issues so the bundle does not include the full run. IDW published 6 volumes of Transformers Classics (up to issue 80), the last 2 volumes are absent here. Ultimately IDW continued the Transformers generation 1 (Classic) imprint to 100 issues (releasing 20 issues of continuation in mid-2000s). While there are likely many complete story arcs in PWYW it's "missing" issues 3, 9, and 49-100.
In the BTA tier those are complete stories All Hail Megatron is a complete series, as is Autocracy. Transformers: Spotlight is a series of one shot stories (so it's not the complete series, but they're basically standalone issues). All Hail Megatron is considered the "second act" of IDW's Transformers series (following issue 100 of the "classic" canon) intended as a soft reboot and jumping on point for new readers. Autocracy is a prequel to the Transformers line.
Not included but between the canon of BTA tier and the $15 tier is a ~31 issue The Transformers series following All Hail Megatron that these $15 issue series ultimately replaced.
The $15 tier are incomplete series, both recent runs starting from 2013 and continuing today. It's likely they contain several complete story arcs but there are definitely further issues (up to 30 issues in either series).
There are a ton of one-shots and mini series not in the bundle, not sure how those are interwoven or if anything crucial is missing... at a glance it looks like a plush bundle deal with a lot of content even if it's not exhaustive.
Edit: Ninja'ed by Grefin while I went looking, I was curious myself.
