So I took the plunge and bought the pulp fiction first tier. I'll see what I think of it and get back to you guys

I'm still undecided so your input would certainly be welcome. :-)
At Comixology, the multiple current Marvel sales combine with a new 50% off for Comixology Unlimited customers, creating some stellar bargains.

Quick thoughts: all the books/comics are between 100-200 pages long so relatively quick reads. The art for the comics is pretty good. I've only flipped through most of the stuff, but from what I have been reading, the story is pretty good. It was on par with what I expected from Pulp Fiction novels. Would have gone for top tier, don't think so, but if I would have gone with the 2nd tier if money permits.

Thanks. Well, I guess I will go through with my original plan and buy the middle tier.
Fanatical (new name of Bundlestars) is now doing comics. If you are on their newsletter list you get 4 free comics whilst if you head over to their site now they've got two comic bundles up for grabs.

A Dynamite and Tank Girl selection.

If you claim the 4 free comics you also get a 10 % discount for other bundles (valid until June 3, IIRC). The "Tank Girl" bundle is almost completely the same as the Humble Bundle from last october. The Dynamite bundle has many repeats but also some new to bundles comics. Probably not worth it for those who bought many Dynamite bundles before but pretty good for new readers. And since comics are new at Fanatical there should be a good chance it does reach some new readers. Hopefully future bundles will have more new-to-bundles material though.

Edit: According to the cover and the text "Lord of the Jungle 1" should be Vol. 1 (#1-9), not issue 1. But on the other hand, the value of €2,16 does point to it being just issue 1. I'll probably not buy it (middle tier at best) so I won't be able to confirm if it's Vol. 1 or #1.

Geddes17: I want to address your question first. The Dynamite Bundle has Lord of the Jungle issue #1. Unfortunately not Vol. #1.

Now for my question.
I just signed up for the newsletter. How do I claim the 4 free comics, or did I already miss my chance?

I can't really say since I already was subscribed to the newsletter. But since the wording was something like "being a loyal subscriber to our newsletter you get this nice gift" I guess there's a good chance you won't get the free comics by subscribing just now. If you're lucky you may get the same newsletter in a day or two but I wouldn't bet on it ...

Btw: The four comics are:
"Sea of Thieves", #1
"Prophecy", #1
"The Wonderful World of Tank Girl", #4
"Kirby Genesis Captain Victory", #1
Note that the books in the Fanatical bundles are offered in Epub or Pdf formats only, no CBZ :(

If that is the case. I tend to buy the bundle anyway, and find the cbz/cbr version else where. PDF is not that bad, but I prefer to have it cbz like you. I have tried converting pdf to a zip format, but it always messes up.

I wrote to ask them about it and they said it's up to the publisher. Dynamite usually does provide CBZ, so strange that they didn't this time. Perhaps if people pressure them like in the Groupees bundle, it will be added.

The main problem these days with digital comics, IMO, is that there isn't an agreed upon convention regarding file formats and image resolution. This opens the door to each publisher and digital store to use whatever they choose instead of having a unified standard.

Since you signed up to the newsletter you will probably already have seen it, but for those who don't get the newsletter: You can claim the four free comics from Fanatical here:

I had no idea there ARE "Godzilla" comics which, luckily, also means that none of them have been bundled before!
