Geddes17: Humble Comics Bundle "Highlights of Aspen Comics":
[...]
All in all a good deal in terms of quantity.
I really appreciate your comments about the bundle but I would like to know your opinion about the quality since I have never read their comics

Unfortunately I cannot help you there because I haven't read them either yet (that's actually the reason for me adding the phrase "in terms of quantity"). ;-)

Too many comics (and books and games and movies and TV series), too little time ...

A heads-up to anyone who bought DRM-free comics from Image Comics, they are discontinuing sales of any DRM-free titles and will be removing download links on February 3rd 2019, so download and back-up anything you've got before it's gone:

Wow, that's shitty! Luckily I never bought something there but if I had I would be pretty angry right now ...

Why?

They are giving a fair warning three months before those files are taken down.

Also, they are not saying that there won't be any DRM-free releases in the future, they are just not available through that particular distribution platform.

1. I'm sure there will still be some people that for a variety of good reasons will miss the deadline.
2. I don't care if they are selling DRM-free comics in the future or not, but when I bought DRM-free comics from them in the past and now they are taking away the download links I AM angry - and the intensity of my anger would rise with the number of comics i bought there ...
I bought a Groupees bundle physical tier once. No indication of the shipping charge amount was made until after purchase, and then they asked for a ridiculous $30 to ship one book.

Mine was like 5 TPBs and a 3 floppies for $90.85 but I wrote to their support email about something else and they changed it to $12.10.

any thoughts on the newest Groupees comic offering on repeats/value

letsmaybeLP92: any thoughts on the newest Groupees comic offering on repeats/value
Well, it's strange and annoying that some books offer PDF/CBZ/EPUB formats and some don't. For example - The Shadow/Batman has .cbz format all issues but #5.

Once more, it's a mixed bag.

Never bundled before (to my knowledge and ignoring sole #1s):
- "The Shadow / Batman", complete crossover series
- #6-10 (of 35) of "Queen Sonja" (#1-5 were already in an earlier Groupees bundle)
- "Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys", complete series
- "Kiss Forever Special"
- "Hack/Slash vs. Vampirella", complete crossover series
- "The Greatest Adventure", complete series
- "Chaos! Holiday Special"
- "Brickleberry", complete miniseries
- #6-8 (of at least 16) of "Bob's Burgers" (#1-5 in earlier Groupees bundles)
- #5-8 of "Bettie Page" (#1-4 in an earlier Groupees bundle), complete series
- #11-15 of "Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris" (#1-10 in earlier Groupees bundles)

Bundled before (besides the already mentioned):
- "Red Sonja #1973" (Humble Bundle)
- "Legends of Red Sonja", complete miniseries (Storybundle and Groupees)
- "Kiss", #1-5 of 10 (Humble Bundle)
- "Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle" (Groupees, Storybundle and Comixology)
- "Black Terror", #1-4 of 14 (Storybundle, complete series was part of a Humble Bundle)
- "The Black Bat", #1-6 of 12 (complete series was part of a Storybundle)
- "Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt", #1-10, complete series (Coxmixology, #1-5 also in an earlier Groupees bundle)

The whole bundle costs $19,99 - if I select those I really want ("The Shadow / Batman", #6-10 of "Queen Sonja", "Hack/Slash vs. Vampirella") I'll have to pay $11,80 which is probably not much cheaper (if it is) than buying during a Comixology sale. Haven't decided yet what to do ...
"BOOM! Studios Winter Bundleland" at Groupees:
https://groupees.com/boomstudios-winterbundle2018

Unfortunately (for me), the only things I really want out of this bundle are all in the $30 tier - and those I could get for roughly the same price at Comixology right now ...

Also, no CBZ files offered for this bundle. Groupees have gone a bit downhill with the offered book formats. I would think CBZ and PDF would be the most basic offerings.

It seems that's partly the fault of Groupees and partly that of the comic publishers. Since the Dynamite bundles still include many CBZ files, obviously the other companies could also include them but choose not to. Until a few months ago someone from Groupees converted the PDF into CBZ files on his own so it made no real difference to customers - but unfortunately that guy isn't at Groupees anymore and there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to do what he did ...
