It's the bestest genre
Yeah, there should be a horror genre. Also, the "Metroidvania" genre needs to be expanded on GOG as well.
You can already search for games tagged as horror:

Horror definitely needs its own genre. It's approaching that time of year again and not having a horror themed Hallowe'en sale is just pissing away money.

The only way to expand that would be to have more actual metroidvanias :P

Don't look at us, were not stopping you :o)
Maybe the OP meant a Horror promo? I'm sure will get one during October, hopefully at the end. Cause I swear, one of these years Halloween is gonna start while I'm still on the beach. Why the anxiety for the pumpkin?

Speaking of halloween, I'm still pissed that last year Costume Quest 2 was released only DRM-ed on Halloween. I was expecting to see a release here, but it never happened.

What about Dust? That game should be considered a Metroidvania since the player has to level up and return to previous stages to continue the game--just like Metroid!

GOG already has a horror genre. It just doesn't offer to filter by it from the drop-down menu.

Here is the list of games that carry this genre marker:

- Darksiders
I have yet to play more than 3 hours of Darksiders, but isn't that more of a ... I don't know .... Zelda-like ? I lam honestly at a loss regarding putting those in a category.

I haven't played any Zelda games, but the wikipedia definition of metroidvania reads:
"Metroidvania is a subgenre of the action-adventure video game genre... Metroidvania games feature a large interconnected world map the player can explore, but access to parts of the world is limited by doors or other portals that can only be opened after the player has acquired special tools, weapons or abilities within the game. Acquiring such improvements also aids the player in defeating more difficult enemies and locating shortcuts and secret areas, and often includes retracing one's steps across the map."

This description fits Darksiders like a tremor glove.
