This is the true Cyberpunk content update we needed

Yes, I have 64GB free space in addition to the Cyberpunk install.

How much space will the game occupy after the patch was applied?

Not much more, maybe the same or one gig more, it downloaded about 32/35gigs to another HDD of mine (where the download folder is set) and applied the patch to the game on a different HDD, where only 10gigs are left.

Yeah the whole 'stuff everything into one installer, eff your HDD space' method of delivering the offline game is a bit hard to take, we haven't reached the point where 30GB is an insignificant amount.

Also I never got an update notification for CP2077, I just got one for Terraria, but GOG never notified me that this one was updated.

At that size, why are people even bothering to update? Just uninstall the old version, and install the game again. That should avoid all problems.

During Summer Sale I expect to see another 20~25% discount and during Autumn Sale at least 30~35%. I will not buy until Winter Sale because by then more patches and minor DLC will be released. It is very possible to see a 50% discount during this sale as well. If not during Winter Sale it could happen during "We Love Gamers™-" or "Spring Sale". :-)

If you're using the offline installer patches, you actually need ~383gb of space. Not kidding in the least. The patcher won't let me update without that much free space. Why? Who the hell knows at this point.

This might be a starting point for a first run (full or just dipping your toe to see how it goes, if you still did not so far). Then, another play through when more improvements are made, possibly with extra content as well. Not bad if this patch really delivers. Possibly the first solid step that a portion of the audience was waiting for, or at least that is the underlying message conveyed by this announcement.

With the way they implement these patches it's easier to disable auto-updates, uninstall and reinstall the game every time they patch it (according to galaxy it's a 58gig download and 59 gigs installed)

Maybe maybe, actually i'm postponing a bit to see if a trade i suggested that will lead to at least a 3060ti or even a 3070 in the pocket ( while loosing a bunch of older hardware ) will come true .....

that said, the game still looks and feels gigantic on a 2060super at 50 fps

i played some more last night after receiving a flat down but in the hour that followed everything worked perfectly fine, even atm it is pretty hard to resist to plug in the headset, enable the controller and go for it ;-)

The reason why demand for free temporary disk space is so high is that files have to be extracted and re-packed. Like it or not there is no way around it other than wiping your old game and installing a fully patched version. Maybe you got to wait some time more until it becomes available if it hasn't been released by now.

Well, isn't that to be expected? Upon release Cyberpunk was in Early Access or alpha state. Now they are slowly moving to the beta phase. Anyone impatient enough to buy the game already, is voluntarily beta-tester. Everyone knows this by now. So don't be surprised that a beta test is a beta test.

Still no changes to the physics? That's what really kills the game for me.
- Randomly flying half a block away because I accidentally stepped on a movable object.
- Enemies flying 2 meters upwards when I literally cut them down with a sword.
- Dying instantly because I get accellerated at a Million kilometers an hour when walking off the roof of a car and gets slam-dunked into the ground (regardless of Biomonitor and Second Heart cyberware).
- Even a 2 ton vehicle, moving at 100 KPH, gets instantly stopped when mowing down pedestrians.

And no changes to the pedestrian (or driving) AI?
When I honk the horn, rev the engine and drive, even slowly, forward on the sidewalk, I expect people to understand I want to get by and at least try to walk out of the way - half of my NCPD shootouts comes from trying to drive gently away from a quest building and some fool practically stumbles onto my car, triggering a "crime", and it's getting really frustrating.

Especially as NCPD and the automated "crime prevention system" can fire at civilians with no consequences. As it is right now, I am killing every NCPD patrol I see, and not even MaxTac can stand up to my katana.

And if the game is supposed to be interpreted as "feeling alive", don't restrict me from who or what I can point a gun at...

Am on my second playthrough, now that I know most of the game's shortcomings from the first run, but I am mostly hacking my way through the limitations (like creating my own legendary equipment).

Anyway, downloading the patch now. My 2 TB NVMe drive dedicated to games is ready.
