Today we welcome a major update to the game from CD PROJEKT RED. The newest Patch 1.2 to Cyberpunk 2077 includes many important fixes that will improve the overall gaming experience – their list can be found here. The update will require 35 GB of free disc space to download and around 100 GB to apply the changes.

Enebias: You can fix every single bug eventually, but you cannot fix bad design.
You could hypothetically create an entirely new game using the same assets Ship of Theseus style to fix bad design. Some games have done wild revamps even post release.

ghst84: So without the 1.2 patch applied, the game occupies 61.6 GB on the HDD. Right now I have 64.5 GB free space (if need be, I can move around some stuff to make more room for this patch).

1. How much space do I need to have in order to download and apply this latest patch?

2. How much space will the game occupy after the patch was applied?
Do you mean you have 64GB free in addition to the Cyberpunk install? You would certainly be fine then, even if the download is large it will replace the original files. If you mean Cyberpunk is 62GB and you have 2GB left, then A) you shouldn't fill your HDD/SSD up that much, and B) I would delete stuff, yes.
Still haven't downloaded the game yet, but glad to see a major patch come out to address a lot of the issues. Hopefully they keep at it until all the bugs are squashed.

WinterSnowfall: And Added Back Most But Not All Of The Initially Planned Content As DLCs - soon to come.

Better than nothing, I guess?

Breja: I think my favorite summary of Cyberpunk 2077 I heard so far was "imagination is not something you can patch in later" :D
I don't think that was its major issue. It has aesthetics and atmosphere in spades...it just lacked execution, foresight, common sense, polish and most importantly, content that wasn't defeated by heavy glitching and/or massive bugs, even though I didn't experience that until AFTER they started patching.
I knew there would be issues after myth busters proved you could polish a turd...

It's pretty amazing to see all the work done after only 4 months of early access, keep it up guys !
This looks like it will break my mods. I will wait for the paid DLCs to be released before I run through again. But this looks fantastic. Will the game be returning to the PSN store?

Please for the love of God, why are you so obsessed with double tap to dodge. Why are KB+M people being subjected to this mess. I know you've been looking at nexus mods and see whats what. Th emodders even removed this rediculous feature. Why do you insist on putting itback in. No the crouch key does so many things at once. You try to dodge, you couch, you try to crouch you end up skipping a cut scene/dialog. What is going on over their at CDPR. This type of stuff should be a no brainer. In order to enjoy this game i can't play it wihout some type of MOD. SMH, please giveus dedicated key for DODGE. There are so many keys that's not mapped, pick one of thise. All this woul dbe better if you just allow people to set universal toggle, Hold & tap. Instead of have it going through the bindings multiple times on one key.

Lifthrasil: Does the patch remove the DRM from the Rewards DLC?
avatar
mrkgnao: No, but it looks like they made sure that streamers are less likely to rant about it online:
"My Rewards popup in the Main Menu is now hidden when Streamer mode is enabled"
Ok, i just woke up, so I'll give them a chance. Can anyone actually come up with a reasonable explanation for this other than PR?
From the list:

"V can no longer use consumables in situations where scene context would not support it."

My mind is reeling ..
wlep something went wrong bc i cant install the patch, either with 200gb free or 1,4tb free, i only get the not enough storage error

Cadaver747: Sorry but what about "8 Things You May Not Know About Cyberpunk 2077", was it scrapped?
Huh, I've been wondering about that thread as well. It simply evaporated into a 404. I wonder what happened?

If I didn't have a tab open with an older front page showing it in the news I could almost think I imagined the whole thing.

The phrase "polishing a turd" comes to mind.
