phaolo: I'm so conflicted..

The fact that CP2077 was removed too is kinda funny and deserved.
On the other hand I don't want CDPR to be too hurt, despite the s**tshow.

Meanwhile, however, Sony still sells crap games like "Life of Black Tiger" without problems..

My personal theory is that Sony and Microsoft are even madder about this than consumers are since Cyberpunk has been promoted for the past so many years and was pitched for a while as a reason to buy an Xbox One or PS4 (I don't remember this game being promoted as a PS5/XBSX game much past this last few months)) and in all likelihood CDPR have burned through enough of the good will that they built with console players that they will not buy it again even on the newer systems since those players only know them for one game (the only game, honestly, in the Witcher series 99% of anyone I talked to about the series played was Witcher 3 on PS4). So, no doubt, Sony is punishing CDPR for ruining the holiday sales over PSN that they were expecting.
Jeez. That savage post from the Kaz parody account lol.

LordJF: I guess many gamers requested its removal.
Underrated comment.

They should just automate refunds regardless of platform at this point. This cannot continue.
Maybe having an event nuking launch night city and relaunching the game like FF XIV did could fix this.

Good advice, just in case!

I love how all the console player fools lack any awareness in this situation and start proudly acting like Sony did the big good. Let's be real. Sony has some of the worst customer support in the industry. They don't have any actual system in place to hand out refunds and that's why it's such a rarity for it to happen. Sony saw the game on their platform, accepted it in that state, then proceeded to take money for that product. And now even with all of this, Sony has removed any official link or simple refund methods and is forcing users to go through their twitter to get their money back, and if you think Sony removed Cyberpunk without CDPR's blessing, you are as gullible as the fools who believed the PS5 was so good, it would make PC gaming obsolete.

Also fuck CD projekt and GOG for being complicit in the Winnie the Pooh's human rights violations and censoring art for the thinned skinned loser.

Don't forget that Sony has been censoring a LOT of Japanese with remotely any form of fanservice or even sexual content. Some visual novels that aren't even in the 18+ age range that got released overseas on the PS4 had some absolutely retarded censorship to cover up characters in scenes they deemed "inappropriate", and Sony constantly hounding the Senran Kagura developers and censoring those games or straight up refusing to allow the games being released in the West is the reason why that series was killed off. They do all this, but they're okay with a terrible fully nude sex scene involving Abby in The Last of Us Part II get a pass.

The new PS 5 controller features are meant to take the Oppai games to new heights. Sony would be foolish not to roll back these policies. Games are supposed to be more fun not less fun. If lewder content is ok for Nintendo then Sony should at least match that.
So, that's how I see it:
-Someone at Sony must've known about how badly the game runs on base consoles and still allowed it to be sold
-Sony first refused refunds after CDPR already implied them
-Other, just as or even more problematic dumpster fires like Fallout 76 (which, other than CP, will probably never be fixed), are still avaiable
-I heard from multiple people that it is still playable on the PS5 and even on the PS4 Pro (though not in the best quality but enough that people have a lot of fun with the game) but instead of just removing it from the PS4 Store they also removed it from the PS5 one

To me it looks like Sony just wants to get back at CDPR for talking about refunds without asking them by financially damaging them as much as possible.

Exactly....The game runs fine on PS5 and XBOX series...and probably with the january-february patch they would fix most major bugs and crashes....sony are just hypocrites...Because they first allowed the game on their platform...They could easily say to CDPR to fix the game first...At least the game will be fixed...other games such as F76 will never be.

LordJF: I guess many gamers requested its removal.
I'd guess many took CDPR up on its offer of refunds and begged Sony for one. Crazy either way though.

Looking at PS4 footage on Youtube, I can see why this is such a big deal. It looks absolutely unplayable, and not in a normal "how can you console guys stand 30fps?" way, but literally unplayable with framerates in the low teens and things not loading in until you're right in front of them for 10 seconds. Crazy they thought they could release a game in that state. I'm fine with them getting burned by it.

It's a shame because the PC version... on my rig anyway... runs great and looks great. I have bugs like cigarettes floating in mid-air sometimes, but nothing that's worse than any Bethesda game ever made.
In the wise words of Marcus from Borderlands: Two words: No refunds!
Ah, a Batman: Arkham Knight situation, this time for PS4 instead of PC.

Also, a tribute to a previous launch blunder (No Man's Sky):

Didn't Sony have to approve and ensure that the game worked properly in advance before selling it for consoles?
