kohlrak: The instability is even seen on the PC copies that are running at normal framerates. Frankly, you need to look beyond simply graphics when seeing minimum requirements for games. It's not easy to "downscale" things like AI, physics, collision, etc. There's alot going on in CP2077, which is also why it's unstable: it sure as hell ain't release ready.

BlackThorny: I stand corrected, it seems the visuals on PS4 are utterly bad as it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43-BHer9VVk

Well CDPR are definitely paying for it, and hard. It's sad really, as Cyberpunk 2077 Does have allot going for it :(

It was certainly an unforgettable experience for me.
I'm a fan back from Witcher 1... you know, that buggy mess that was a good game underneath the mess, made by a developer that wanted to make a great game? Remember those days?

Well, I don't see this problem with 2077, nor do I see the same developer. I also don't see the game we were promised under all the launch issues, so for us here in this gamer household it is a double disappointment. Really, really bummed.

I requested a refund on it 3 or 4 days ago and I have not had any response.

timppu: GOG has nothing to worry about since I bought almost 100€ worth of games from them just yesterday for the winter sale.

That should help them through the worst.

13.59 Ashen
8.49 Silent Hill 4: The Room
11.99 Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
22.49 art of rally deluxe edition
7.49 Wolfenstein II: The Freedom Chronicles - Season Pass
8.49 METAL GEAR SOLID
5.09 Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra
5.09 METAL GEAR
4.09 Ashen Nightstorm Isle
8.49 METAL GEAR SOLID 2 SUBSTANCE

Legitimately the weirdest post I've ever seen on a forum.
Uhm... Yeah, no, you should spend a little more just to make sure they survive.
If you don't, the suits at CDPR and somesuch will go hungry :(

If you spend 100€ every day for the next 100 years and shout Cyberpunk exactly 77 times while looking in a mirror, the CEO of CDPR will invite you to dine on the Yacht bought with your money.

Paradoks: I do however have to point out Sony's hypocrisy here. They knew how the game runs on their hardware and accepted it. Then they refused to give refunds and, after CDP tried to step in, they decided to remove the game from the store (including decent PS5 version), when games in worse state are still available. It looks like everyone is trying to capitalise on the current mess.
This is what it looks to me as well.

1. Issues first reported: Sony, criticized, distance themselves and say they will send CDPR a "business notice" or something like that, which is meaningless but sounds serious. Makes CDPR look like the bad guys, and Sony are the good guys again.

2. CDPR announces unconditional refunds, which Sony apparently never did for any game. Refunds are bounced by Sony support agents. Makes Sony look like the bad guys.

3. Agree to process refunds but also remove the game from store to make CDPR lose Christmas sales, and also cost them reputation. Sony to the rescue, saving their customers from a game they certified themselves. Sony are the good guys once yet.

Separately, this issue is also made worse by the general lack of availability of the next-generation consoles which is hardly CDPR's fault either.

Perhaps, but every company is at fault for their adherence both to Wirth's Law and making ridiculous promises.

There's a certain schadenfreude to be had for PC users who had to suffer bad console ports for years, only for the tables to be turned this time.

Seriously though, I agree they shouldn't have misrepresented the state of the game on older consoles. There was even on moment when somebody from CDPR said it worked "surprisingly good." Turns out that wasn't really the case.

From what I can tell, it's more than just performance, too. I'm looking atthis game, and i'm seeing a Trucking Tuesdays episode.

Well enough for them to charge 60 bucks for. Says everything.

I wonder what was on the "gold" version. I doubt it was more glitchy and still think the time since was spent trying to cram more into console, sacrificing stability instead of improving it. This good review basically says - current state is flawed, everyone should wait a couple more months to get the full experience, while those on consoles will need significantly more.

This has been the case for many games lately. But I still think people are overreacting. Arkham Knight didn't kill Rocksteady or the Batman franchise. Unity didn't kill Assassins Creed. Fallout 76 didn't kill Bethesda. Mass Effect Andromeda didn't kill Mass Effect and Bioware even if it felt like it. No Mans Sky is actually pretty good now. You might babble and cry about game release states but the truth is that games are always going to change. They will receive patches, enhanced editions, rereleases, etc. Games will eventually get better with time. It happened with The Witcher 3. The case of Cyberpunk was one of massive, invasive marketing with little to nothing to build upon.

I do wonder why people are piling on CDPR in particular, though.

CDP on the whole has been targeted by the left to the degree that it cannot be forgiven for even having Linko as an employee. For those who aren't SJWs, it's the invasive marketing with a release rivaling that of No Man's Sky (which i think NMS actually managed to have a better release state). Expectations were high, especially after TW3. And to top it off, they are showing that they will bow to the CCP for the yuan. I'm only slightly surprised the kotaku crowd is hanging them, but the rest of us shouldn't be a surprise at all.
