I'm having trouble with getting this game to work. The down arrows don't work when selecting new characters etc. and the mouse doesn't work either. It makes all functionality non-existent to get the game going. Any suggestions? My Numeric Lock is on so it's not that.

Yes it is along with the other gold box games.
Don't remember having any problems with it mind you, so no help here.

Most of the selection are done on the Number Keypad..1 was down 7 up.
You can use the arrows next to M for left and right selection, that would be ( , . )
PgUp and PgDn can be used too, tho for me it was Home and End.
Check the quick reference card in the games install folder for keys, sure it covered them.
You wont be using the mouse so no probs on that score.

Well if you check the reference card it shows it uses the numpad for a bunch of stuff, including using 7(Home) and 1(End) for selecting menu items vertically.

Uhm, shouldn't Num-Lock be off to use the arrow keys? While turned on the keys represent the numbers 1 to 9 instead.

Well, I never played this game, but mouse support is highly unlikely in a rpg from the 80s. (eh, minus a few {wasteland})
So maybe post this in the game specific sub forum, and skim the manual. :/

I had the same problem. Used 7 or "home" key for up and 1 or "end" key for down when choosing a race or class. Try that.

The necromancy is strong in this one.

Perhaps we should call the inquisition to prevent this zombie from rising again.
