Are they the new GOGmixes.
I wish they had just left the old mixes alone and not deleted them all outright.
I never cared much about the old GOGmixes, but if some people liked them, I see no reason to have removed them.

But the curated collections are just a waste of space on the main page and should be removed.

A lot of people are still struggling to understand the purpose of completely static "curations" everyone's already looked at once month's ago. Eg, a "scary" collection like "Something wicked comes this way" containing games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, would probably have more impact being shown at Halloween, but we just had one of those sale's, so who's going to be looking at it now?...

It would make far more sense to go back to the old design and just have 1-2 "curation" panels and then rotate them given the holiday / sale's theme. But then it also makes sense for every other website to have the news at the top (first thing you see) rather than the bottom (last thing you see) and there's little point in me repeating what a million other people have already said regarding the strange "creativity" behind the new site design...

AB2012: ...
It would definitely be nice if they rotated. It hasn't changed at all since the redesign. It's just a blob of colors to me at this point.

Also the news thing is a big one. I didn't really notice it until you mentioned it, but every time I come to this site either on PC or mobile, I go straight to the bottom to see what's new.

Fun fact: I never even clicked one of the "curated collections". I'm not really interested into random lists of games made by random people...

Most agreed. They are massively useless in my opinion. Regular GOG users already have their own way of checking out games and pay attention to the news pages. Few would be swayed by being told what to play. As for newbies, the boxes are located too low, and require an additional step of clicking to reveal games, where the covers for the collections aren't really that enticing anyway.

I would prefer them demolished in favor of big timers for the daily deals and weekly sales. Nothing catches the eye more than a good sale, and a lovely splash image, I say! :D

Every time I come to GOG, I go straight to the forums. Every couple of days I see a thread about a newly released game and think "Shit, gotta have a look at the news before the ones I missed disappear".

Putting the news at the bottom and hiding the new releases at the top spot behind sales and Thronebreaker is kinda weird. Honestly... I come to GOG and see a sale banner (currently "Made in Poland"), Thronebreaker, Project Warlord (three weeks old, according to the game's page), another sale and THEN two semi-recent releases (which both already dropped out of the news). I probably missed a few new releases already...

News should go back to the top where people will see them. If people miss new games they won't buy them. And this'll result in publishers/devs thinking that GOG isn't worth any effort! Seriously, the new design is really, really stupid. It's not THAT bad (game pages are good, except one or two minor details), but... Where and how they put their different sections on the front page is freakin' weird!

1. Random stuff (mainly sales) that's featured for random reasons
2. Tiny spot for new releases (<- *lol* I just realized that one for the first time - thought it was sales, since everything there has a discount)
3. Sales
4. Bestselling games (usually games that are on sale - that's why they're bestselling)
5. Curated collections -.-
6. News
Honestly, I've never looked at News, GOG Mixes or anything of the like. The New list tracks game releases to a fair pace, so why peruse all this useless natter?

Sure, I realize that there are some people who apparently don't even visit GOG on a weekly basis, but that's honestly their problem.

News at the TOP of the page??? What are you people?? Radicals? Anarchists? Where do you get these ridiculous ideas. Extremists are everywhere these days...mubmlemumblemumle.

I haven't used the front page for a while now. Forums are my main source of information recently.
The Curated Collections section probably remains because they have nothing to fill the hole with.

GoG mixes were great especially the one I made to list games with novel gameplay. Now it has disappeared and I'm more annoyed than when they removed games and your mini review from the GoGmix when games left the GoG store

The "Curted Collections" are really the most useless part of the redesign. Only a complete waste of space. And it's even more annoying, because the space on the front page could've been used for the GOGmixes (maybe also re-designed with more space for information), which were indeed useful.
They killed the gog mixes? What kinda move is that?!

They aren't dead. They're down for retrofitting.
I notice how I didn't even realized there was a curation list.

The website is just a waste of time no.

I come here to play my collection and write some annoying posts to the forum :p
