Idiocracy: the film whose predictions happened 490 years too early.

For my money it's Braindead (Dead Alive). I've honestly never laughed so much at one film. Ever.

I actually got the 4k blu ray release of Manos, looking foward to the 4k remaster of the Atomic Brain. Also my buddy got his hands on Frankenstein 1970 starring Boris Karloff along with a few others like the turkish film 3 Dev Adam which has a knock off El Santo and Captain America battling a evil homicidal Spider-man . Just waiting on him to make me a copy of it, in turn I'm giving him copies of Blackenstein, Dr. Black and Mr. Hyde and a few others. Also have Moonrunners which was the Hicksploitation film that Dukes of Hazard was based on.

I love horror and other speculative fiction movies. My collection isn't great, but I have some decent movies in there. Got Audition, got the Blind Dead series, got Creepozoids, got Dagon, got Evil Dead, got Frankenstein's Army...

Last year I got to see this in theatre. I invited a friend who's not so much into horror films along. I tried to dissuade him, because of course you don't want to just throw somebody into it, but the night before I watched the trailer and as I was watching it I kept thinking, "man, I really understated it, didn't I." He liked it though, even though he said he was glad he didn't eat before hand.

Good movie. The specific commentary on Mondo films is a touch outdated, but I think the overall message still resonates.

Six String Samurai. Post-apocalyptic action movie about a guy on his way to Vegas to become the new King of Rock and Roll. If you like extremely campy action movies, this is a must watch!

It's also full of quotables and funny moments such as:

Mesh-Head: If I were you, I would run.

Buddy: If you were me, you'd be good-lookin'.

Oh yes he would have made an awesome LotR dwarf! I do think that Richard Armitage nailed the role of Thorin, and Brain wouldn't have worked as one of the other Hobbit dwarves. He would simply have commanded too much presence. He would've made for a killer Gimli though! But again, John Rhys-Davies nailed the role as well.

I think Brian would have been good in the part played by the Big Yin (Billy Connolly). Sorry, can't remember the characters name, I lost interest watching the film.

The Garbage Pail Kids movie. Even after years of watching endless streams of filth and crap, it's still my top worst film. And somehow, mainly due to the internet, it has gained a cult status. Garbage Pail Kids doesn't deserve the title. It doesn't deserve the film it was printed on. It doesn't even deserve to be talked about or watched. But yet...

It is also now the I Hate Everything guy's worst film. Worse than The Room, worse than Baby Geniuses, worse than Santa Claus conquers the Martians. Worse than everything. It's just pure liquefied pain. I have it in my DVD collection and every time I walk by it I have to apologize to myself for being in its presence.

I like Armitage fine as an actor (I think he'd make for a great Bond) but I didn't really buy him as a dwarf, and especially not as Thorin. I think he would have been a good choice for Bard though. Much better than Luke Evans, at least if we were to stick to the books (which the movie did the opposite of).

Cult movies?
Well, there is my favorite one, The Rocky Horror Picture show.
Oh, and Full Metal Jacket, I can laugh my ass off when I watch it.

I love that movie. It's brilliant. Totally unique, pants-on-your-head crazy with everything from Rock & Roll to the Wizard of Oz thrown in. Also, The Red Elvises.

I've seen the movie so often that I still have it memorized, and have often gone as Eddie & Dr. Scott.* (We did our own floor show every week; so at one time or another, I've covered every male role except Frank N. Furter.)

I honestly don't know whether to hold RHPS and Renaissance Faires more responsible for my lifelong love of cosplay; they both kind of happened around the same time for me.

*Fun fact: In the original play, those roles were meant to be played by the same actor; for the Broadway production, that happened to be Meat Loaf (who played only Eddie in the film).

Also: Richard O'Brien, who both wrote Rocky Horror and starred as Riff Raff, voices the father on Disney's Phineas & Ferb. As a result, there are casual RHPS references in quite a few episodes of the TV show. (Case in point.)
