Interesting to note that the creative director of Warmachine game is going to be Scott Campbell, ie one of the original designers of Fallout 1.

CopyPaste: A Kickstarter for a book version of the Prelude series for the Dreamkeepers graphic novel saga (which I really like), just search for it on kickstarter by typing Dreamkeepers Prelude Collection (can't post links yet it seems, bah)

AstralWanderer: For those interested, the project is:

Dreamkeepers Prelude Collection! (Aug 1)

They have stretch goals up to $250,000 which seems a trifle...ambitious. But the original webcomic is available here for those interested.

CopyPaste: Oh and this is my first post on these forums btw.

AstralWanderer: And welcome to the forums. :)
Ty for the compliment.
The kickstarter seems to be progressing slowly. But at least according to kicktraq it seems to get the funding by the end of it (doubt it's going to even reach the first stretch goal).

Wow, I completely forgot about this game. I hadn't heard of any updates from the dev in something like 5 years. I guess lots more devs with projects older than Kickstarter itself (Valdis Story, Spud's Quest, etc.) are starting to use that service.

The Dreamkeepers kickstarter has reached it's funding now, just to let everyone know.
Oh wow... I wanted to post an update and it turns out that the campaign wasn't even mentioned in this thread yet 0_o.
Either way - there's this flexible indiegogo retro-metroidvania-like project that is in desperate need of someone with even the most basic of voice-acting skill (that is: someone who can take a few lines of text and read them aloud in a way that doesn't immediately bring to mind someone merely taking a few lines of text and reading them aloud).
This is their current pitch video... this is the previous one. I honestly can't decide which is worse.
The game is simple yet amazing and you can try it out for yourselves at your leisure.

Alice: Otherlands is up, American McGee's project to buy the Alice Film rights and produce animated shorts based on it. (The goal isn't enough to buy the full film rights, but if the project gets funded he has a chance to get that later.)

His Oz Action Adventure (the game formerly known as OZombie) is cancelled for now, but will return once the Alice campaign is over.
Jim Walls of Plice Quest fame is pitching his new game, Precinct. From the looks of it, it's going to be more serious police game, with 500k budget.

Though the first tier to get the actual game does seem to be pretty steep. I'm not yet sure if I'm willing to shell out 30 bucks for an episodic game. But at least this game seems to try something else than just to re-create point & click style PQ spiritual sequel.

Trying something new is a good way to fail at Kickstarter. It's not a bad thing per se, and I wish him luck, but the big money is in "more of the same old".

And yes, the prices on Kickstarter have really gone up. I think that's a mistake if you don't have a rabid fan base, and $30 is IMO pretty high even if you do (though it's not a killer in that case).
As I said in the thread created by MoP for Precinct, episodic release doesn't sound thrilling.
The campaign lacks important info, like how many episodes there will be, if the $30 tier includes only Ep. 1, what tier nets you all episodes, when the series will conclude (I suppose this depends on the success of the series).

If the $30 tier gets you only Ep.1, I'm curious to see how much it'll cost on release.
And no one should ever again complain about Telltale Games being overpriced.

And here's the highlight for me:

Pledge $15 or more

You receive a 5-pack of HD wallpapers created by the game team as well as a thank you on our website.
Seriously?
This KS tiers are too expensive, he will need a very rich fanbase to get this game funded (the majority of Sierra-based KSers weren't exactly a PE or Torment in terms of money arrecadated...)

And a new project:
MotorGun - Return of the Auto Duel, vehicular combat game from a team that includes the creative minds behind Twisted Metal and Interstate ‘76

I'm kind of feeling the same for the Alice short. $25 to get an animated short feels too much to me. I still hope the project will make it, but I feel it's a tactical error to price it like that.
