IanM: The awkward answer is nothing in particular! anything that grabs my attention and feels inspiring in some way.
The genres I play more than any other tend to be RPG (more BG2 and KOTOR than 'action rpg' like Diablo) single player, adventure FPS (STALKER, Bioshock) and TPP adventures (Tomb Raider, Wind Waker, Ico) This year I bought Waking Mars, Tiny & Big, wishlisted a few games like Dust: Elysian Tail (SOTN is my favourite 2D platform game) and The Stanley Parable just because I'm not sure what it is and it looks a bit different.
I skimmed back through RockPaperShotgun's archive to see if anything caught my eye, are there any better sites that cover the indie/crowdfunded PC games?
Some of the successfull RPG campaigns I backed and can suggest to you:
Expeditions: Conquistador
Arakion
Antharion
Sui Generis
Forsaken Fortress
Meriwether: An American Epic
Consortium
Frontiers
Balrum
The Mandate
Dex
Grim Dawn is a ARPG, but if you like Titan Quest, is a must.
And of course the big ones: Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Project Eternity, Divinity: Original Sin and Shadowrun: Returns
Platfomers:
Freedom Planet
Spud's Quest
Jetpack 2
Noctemis
Shantae
Hot Tin Roof
