JudasIscariot: I've highlighted that bit because designing a special mission would take time away from the main game and, as we all know by now, time = money. While the content DOES smack of exclusivity, I think it's only fair to charge for having to design, test, possibly re-design, and ensure that the special mission doesn't just feel like it's thrown in there for the sake of fulfilling a promise. If you're going to put in a special mission you have to ensure that it blends with the entire narrative somehow. I don't know how the designing of a mission goes but I am sure it does take time to do so and do so properly.
Now I
do think you're trolling me. Yes, it's perfectly okay to charge thousands of dollars for getting to say what the special mission would be. It's not okay to limit access to
playing that mission. Eg a 2k FTL backer got to design the crystal race (which is awesome), and now I get to play it. I don't get to play my purple space lynx dream race instead, because I paid tenbux.
JudasIscariot: Exclusive? Yes but still doesn't take away from the completion of the game.
Uhm.
Uhm.
Wat.
No one plays games to complete them, not even completionists. Otherwise the only game in the universe would be LaZorra's World (go north to win - north! - you win!) People play games for the experience of interacting with the game's content. The more content there is to potentially enhance the experience, the better. (I don't recommend playing PS:T with Leprechaun Annah.) And you can tell the extra content that guy offers is meant to enhance the experience,
because he charges money for it. JudasIscariot: Also, from an earlier post of yours:
$15 gets you a DRM-free digital copy, a high-res digital poster of the cover art
That sounds like exclusive digital content for those who don't pay the extra money :P Granted, it's only a $9 difference but the principle appears to remain the same.
No, posters are to be sold separately from the artist's site, price to be set by the (like-minded) artist.
Side note: SwiftKey offers to autocomplete "some" with "Euro-Skeptics".
