Some bold words, but it does look to be on the right path. Unfortunately, no mention of gog thus far, but it does have a digital copy in adition to a steam key. From the makers of Battlevoid: Harbinger, wich is on gog.

Not, that I'm not supporting any Kickstarter stuff anymore, but a reply from the creators like "we would like to make a game DRM free, but we will see how the development will procede!" is a red line. They are just telling you f*** off. You can quote me in the future by "There will be no drm free version of this game".

Well I think that's due more to inexperience honestly BUT creators shoud be clear to their backers from the get go so, yes, that's not acceptable.
I still think it is a project that could turn out to be interesting but I'm gettin a little undecided on supporting them or not. I asked them if the physical edition would require steam and they answered :
"We think so, but we are right now speaking with all distribution services in order to find the best solution for the players".
So it's pretty much a process, I going to wait and see how they manage the campaign.

Kickstarer campaign still running and even the early bird tier is still available for this cute little puzzle platformer with nice characters and interesting and new mechanics (just play the demo). Dev confirmed that you don't need to get a Steam key you can chose DRM-free as well (not sure where yet - but DRM-free).

Aside from space combat/exploration/trading (known from WC:Priv) there are elements of RPG (player's character development) with possibility of movement on space stations, planetary space ports and a chance to board hostile spaceships. In spite of graphic created with help of typical ASCII characters it is not a roguelike type of video game. It has classical system of save/load of game progress. If "Hidden Asset" game will be financial success, then next will be graphical version of "Ascii Sector" game.

I really hope crowdfunding will be successful and we'll see "Hidden Asset" here on GOG.com, DRM Free... :-D
