Tekkaman-James: CatFish

A cute-looking fishing/exploration game that casts you as a cat who is challenging the world-dominating fish regime...by catching them. The game looks to have plenty of customization options and loads of different fish types to seek out and collect. Give it a look!
Just wanted to bring some attention back to this game again. The campaign ends on 2.10.2015 and they are about $800 away from their goal as of this writing. With six days left, it's a very obtainable goal. If you enjoy fishing and/or exploration games, please consider showing your support. The game is being made by a very small team and one of the designers is a "friend of a friend" of mine. Thanks for humoring me.

Piranjade: And... the Underworld Ascension kickstarter by Otherside Entertainment is live.
While I'm personally not completely satisfied with the way the kickstarter is set up, the game itself looks interesting enough for me to pledge.

IAmSinistar: Do you know if they are committed to a DRM-free release? I'd be happy to back them if so. Thanks!
I've asked them several times but haven't received an answer to that yet. I hope that they'll answer this in the AMA or tonight in the chat on twitch.

Thanks for that, good sir! They are certainly pacing well, but I would hate to see them miss out by such a small amount, so I thought I would remind the kind folks here about the campaign. Every little bit helps to ensure that they'll meet their goal, so your added support is awesome.

(This post really makes it sound like I have a vested interest in this game, but I honestly don't. While one of the devs is a friend of a friend, I have never met him before. The connection is really more of an interesting piece of trivia than anything else. I didn't actually back it until yesterday myself. Still, I enjoy fishing games on occasion and I would love to see how this game does it if given the chance.)

If you're interested in talking to members of Otherside Entertainment, I'll have some of them in the chat of my Ultima Underworld twitch stream for GOG tonight:

They also have an AMA on reddit in a few hours:

Awesome, thanks! I took a gamble this would be the answer and did an early-bird backing, glad to see it won't be a wasted one. :)
Paul Neurath is a professional. And, like all true professionals, woudn't be scared with the flimsy ghost of piracy.

I'm a sucker for Oregon Trail games. Backed!
Windwalkers - just WOW at those drawings and character concepts!

Oo, nice! I recognised the work of Barlowe even before I saw his name in the credits. :)

Guessing it won't be DRM-free, though.
I think my favorite thing about Barlowe is that he designed a 1980s action figure line called Power Lords. It was like a He-Man thing but totally bent, and presumably flopped because they were too damn weird to have a movie or cartoon show. The hero, Adam Power, lived in an active volcano that would have made a Bond villain piss themselves and he looked like a cross between Adam Warlock and Molasar from the movie version of The Keep.

I think that like most folks I became conscious of Barlowe's work through his excellent Guide to Extraterrestrials, and also his cover work on the novels of James White. His later paintings of Hell are quite excellent too, though the novel written around them I found lacking.
