Gnostic: Inxile is kickstarting a new stretch goal for Tormant in their own website.

Now it is 99% funded with 3 days to go.

I find this weird. Why?. Call me cynical but many of the KS feel like "Lets get this goal and succeed then get onto greenlight/steam and grab more $$$$$". They have enough money. Id like to know whether any of the big ones would have been able to actually complete a game from start to finish purely on KS money raised.
A story-driven, first person survival horror game, set on a remote, Pacific North West Island in the early 1980's:

After Dracula 3D, I was wondering just how former Italian horror maestro Dario Argento could possibly stoop any lower. I guess I got my answer, he's on IndieGoGo now!

No "personalised blowjob from Asia" reward tier? = No pledge!

Errr...... is a long topic so maybe you want to head over there to see what is the game development budget?
http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/rpg-development-budgets.76910/

In earlier years, when game development cost is prohibitively high, big project already have budget larger than what kickstarter funding can achieve, almost every one of them.
Fallout, a game in 1997 had a budget of 3M

Darkland in 1992 3M

Ultima 7 have 7M

Witcher 2 budget 10M

Psychonauts 13M

What does games cost now? Obsidian asked for 25M to develop Baldur Gate 3
http://kotaku.com/5967965/obsidian-almost-made-baldurs-gate-3

For a very extensive game development budget throughout history from the eighties till today see here
http://kotaku.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-make-a-big-video-game-1501413649

Hence do you think it is still possible for any of the big games be completed using KS money alone? I expect the dev pitch in their own money or go without or little salary.

Like the recent greywalkers kickstarter, if you play the demo and see the quality of the picture and animation and content they are trying to achieve at their kickstarter page, do you think the game can be created with 40k only?
Lovely Little Thieves, a visual novel game by Hope Chapman, a.k.a. JesuOtaku. Demo available.

Planet Centauri, a 2d sci-fi sandbox game that looks fantastic:

Linux/Mac support, DRM-Free, Steam key in addition to the DRM-Free copy (maybe a Humble Store release?), modding tools...I really hope this game delivers a solid experience in the end.

The developers of Graywalkers said they have been in contact with a couple wealthy people who are interested in investing in the game's development if the Kickstarter is successful. (And they're officially funded as of today). Also, they're planning on putting the beta up on Steam Early Access at some point, so they may have some additional funds from that. So I'd guess their total dev budget will end up being something like $250K or more.

Btw, if anyone hasn't voted for Graywalkers on GOG wishlist please do so: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/graywalkers_purgatory I'd really like to see the DRM-free version here.

If any of you have seen the gorgeous dragon artwork of Kerem Beyit, then you might want to check out The Sun and Moon Dragons from the makers of the card game, Draco Magi. It's just a bit of artwork for sale, but you can add on some prototype cards to your pledge if you play or are interested in the card game. There's even a tier to get the game itself, if you want to pick it up. Either way, Kerem's artwork is gorgeous, so check it out just for that if nothing else.

Not gaming related, but you might want to check out Nosferatu Remix. It's an attempt to recreate the classic film with new actors and effects but on green screen in order to preserve the original 1921 backgrounds. Count Orlok is being played by creature actor extraordinaire Doug Jones (Pans Labyrinth, Hellboy, Falling Skies, etc.), so that's enough of a reason for me to back it!

Piranjade: The Games & Gears Ichiban Studios Pro Line Brush kickstarter is nearing its end.
The project is funded, most stretchgoals have been reached.

Right now a pledge of £ 30 will get you four brushes in different sizes, a case for those brushes, some downloadable videos on painting miniatures, and a "towel" thing.
avatar
Piranjade: I received a message that my brushes are on the way. I'm really excited to receive them soon. :-)

Edit: brushes not bushes.
I forgot to post that my brushes have finally arrived (I was in a different batch than I thought I was) this Monday.

So I got four brushes in a nice faux-leather sheath, a little soft towel and a cube of soap.
Everything looks really good and the brushes have a nice feel to them. When putting the brushes together both parts fit perfectly and aren't too lose as some of the prototypes were.

I haven't gotten around to painting with them yet but so far I'm happy with the results of this kickstarter, although shipping could have been a bit faster.

Looks great, like the setting, and DRM-free.

Hello. Some of you kind folks posted about our past Kickstarters, so I hoped you wouldn't mind if I added this:

Lone Wolf - The Board Game

This is the first wargame/board game to come out of Lone Wolf, the long-running gamebook series ("Choose Your Own Adventure"). It appeals to older sensibilities, having started development in the 1980's, and is made of completely hand-drawn playing pieces. I like to think it's downright beautiful, but also the creator Gary Chalk has 40 years of experience in wargaming, and it's a pretty darn good game system.

There are free downloads for people to print and play at home before backing.
