THE LEGEND IS BACK!

The cult-classic Croc Legend of the Gobbos and its remastered version are now available on GOG!

After almost 30 years, the most lovable green hero awaits—ready to capture the hearts of nostalgic fans and new players alike.

Grab it now and preserve its magic forever!
That's one hungry crocodile, €30 for an old remaster. If this was a remake I'd understand.

In comparison - 3 Tomb Raider remasters are cheaper and it's 3 games not 1.

If it was say €20 I would have considered, but for now I'll wait for a discount.

Reznov64: $30 for a 30 year old game. Could have at least remade Croc 2 while they were at it.
Agree, what did they do to make it worth 30? The game wasn't super highly rated even in the 90s.
My biggest issue is the size of the remaster. 30+Gb is insane.

If they had a human write the store page copy instead of pasting in LLM drivel they might have been able to tell us.

Maybe it's some numerology thing they're going for. 30 year old game, 30 dollars, 30 gigabytes.

I did love this game when playing it before but agree the storage requirement is a turnoff.

Even MySims and MySims Kingdom are only 4GB each.

Or you aren't a chicken who skipped to read "UPDATE: The fix regarding the above has been deployed!" :D

It's more the principle of the thing.

This is not the first new game release where the offline installer had some issue or another at release. But it is perhaps more notable than others that had an issue that was quickly fixed.

Croc has been getting hyped up for months as a major release (and it is, imo), with multiple forum threads, a thread to officially announce the release date, etc.

If I was as sure of GOG as I used to be, this is a release I would have bought instantly upon it being available on the store. I would have then been "rewarded" for my support, by having to wait to get my offline installer.

To have that experience would make such a customer feel more sour about the store. As, the priorities are backwards. Offline installers should be the standard, the default, the priority. Anything else is a ...crock.

The game was released during midnight in Poland. In comparison with similar incidents it was directly announced that there is an error with Galaxy and they fixed it within 10 hours. Come on!

Could be... The price is pretty steep for a 30 year old platformer. But storage is an even bigger issue for me. I don't want to dedicate 30+ GB to a game that I will play occasionally.

Tomb Raider got a huge fan-base which is probably 10-100 times bigger, So, by charging 30 coins they may get the same money like Croc by charging 300-3000 coins.

Simply how the current economy unfortunately works, like it or not.
I know, if it would be a deadly weapon... they may get the coins for free from some other sources (no need for crowd funding anymore) yet this is not a deadly weapon, just a... considered by many people "not so much necessary game".

Main reason why about 90% of all games may never see the daylight anymore... because economically just not worth it. Cant make it "worth it" if just a bunch of Indios are buying it who even feel 30 is to much, it should be 3 and not a coin more; as well not more than 3 GB, else the drive gets to full.

Either, a sufficient amount of gamers want it and are paying some sufficient coins or those games are gone... and at some point may not even become revjuvenated by emulators (for Nintendo games the hardest task, as they are wiping them out one by one with no regrets.... as they want to see coins, else gamers can say goodbye).

Anyway, most likely there might be some price cuts at some later day. The same case for a bigger drive...

As someone who already owns the game on a CD, the Crocipedia is the biggest draw for me here. Though not 33 bucks worth...

This is honestly why massive textures should be a separate download for games at this point. 4/8K textures are great and all, but they get ludicrously large. Sacred 2 for example did this over 15 years ago, where super high res textures were on a separate DVD.

Textures are not the only data with big sizes: It could as well affect video or music data files, as they all are capable to use lot of space dependable on quality and length.
Kinda interested, the price is also for bonuses that are inside lol.
