H3H3 productions has put up a video recently pointing out a bill that will remove the limitation preventing personal data of searching habits from ISPs. This means anyone could buy your information without your consent if this passes.

The vote is to go forward in congress TOMORROW.

In some ways this is as bad as TPP, SOPA and other unwanted bills.

So maybe you should change your forum title because the guy you are praising is in favor of it, he is going to sign it into law, and then, as you just pointed out, Australia is going to follow suit.

He stays,it stays. It can be changed in our country by the opposition,if it is copied.Stand up and have a go in America against this sort of thing.

This bill isn't about the FCC. Remember when we had at it about this before? In that other, other thread of yours? Where you ultimately revealed that you have no idea how the internet or even your own government works?

The FCC actually was making great progress toward making sure this sort of thing couldn't happen, before the election and the sea change. This is a congressional play, and it only impacts the FCC insofar as it's about to undo all the good that the FCC was able to do in the last year and a half under the previous administration. You were mighty silent about how nice it was to have broadband as a de facto utility, source-agnostic routing on the backbone, and low barriers to entry in the municipal market. If you're actually interested in getting people involved and informed, then at least keep it clear who's actually pushing these things, yeah?

Look, I'm all about fighting the good fight, but...

A: The deck is stacked against the common man. It was already bad during the previous presidency when nothing but direct intervention prevented the clowns from voting bad things into law, and now we have a Ardipithecus in office.

B: Privacy on the internet is bullshit anyway.
Let's all panic and hide in our underground bunkers!

Actually it's a ruse to lure in the crazies... not sure what I'll do with them though, as I don't possess a firearm. It's almost flooding at the moment thanks to a nearby cyclone, so I could probably use that.

Here's other sources that I didn't list before, and didn't think I'd have to.
