rtcvb32: Guess this is the advantage of pre-loading, when you get the largest block to download when you know you can't play it yet.
My first impression would be that there are so many people trying to download at once, that everyone will have some issues for a while, probably a week or so. After that speeds will probably be better.
Personally I'd set it to download, and not expect to play it today. You might get it tonight and install it and start it tomorrow.
Second option, could be torrents as i bet it will already be present. Thousands of users downloading and sharing their downloads, can result in very fast download speeds.
I'll also assume you don't have it on disc, so installing from there and downloading any additional updates (
assuming it isn't a 50Gb patch like some lazy devs do) would be an option.
Third option, if a friend also bought the game and is downloading it faster, you might just wait and let them download it and then get a copy.
I don't know. If you purely want to go through GoG, just be patient. This speed hickup is unlikely to be too terrible for too long.
Though honestly if you ever used Dialup and 4k/s honestly 1Mb a second isn't that bad. It may not be what others are used to with HD TV and such high download speeds, but seriously it's not that bad.
Stupid question but can i download from torrent and somehow make it like its from gog? I mean all the achivments etc. will be enabled?
INSANE XD While i was writing this i replied and checked the download spee and its 25mb/s now nevermind XD
