can gov be defamed

how do the groups decide who to accuse?

I'm gonna read past the quoted post.

Yes, but the Grand Vizier can only be executed if all loyalists vote for him as well.
how do the groups decide who to accuse?
The Grand Vizier decides for the loyalists. The Imam decides for the protesters. The rebels decide collectively.

yogsloth: I'm a plain jane Minor Nobility. Put me in the government and I become a Loyalist. The two town power roles (which is how I'm thinking of them) stay hidden, we have to find one more Minor Nobility to add, you live, we start Day 2 in a good position.

That's basically how I'm thinking this is supposed to play out from a "Town" perspective
I'm a Plain Jane mINOR nOBLE. I also flip to loyalist, so I am willing to play to Lift's WC. OTOH, if the rebs win, and I live, i win, so I am just as happy to let the rebs win so long as I am NOT picked.

Scene summarized well in #37 when he said

supplementscene: I've figured out how the game goes. If you pick 2 players and survive that mean you have either loyalists in government or protestants

If the protestant is an Imam he will nominate players not in government and the game is pretty much over if I understand it correctly

If the Imam is not in government he's going to pick all government members and they'll get executed via a coup.

So you[Lift] have the hardest win condition because you have to make sure you don't pick a rebel every round
er........
In this situation, the sultan can win by offing people not in power, but the rebs are gonna try and off people in gov.

If Lift survives Day 1, everyone in gov is "lock-town" and shouldn't be voted against by those in town who want town to win. Except for the NK, which cannot get the Vizier, but can finger the judges. Sooooooooooo, it is in everyone but Lift and Rebs interest to try and work together and off rebs? it really depends on what WC people want to go for. everyone of us protestors has a fluid WC, whereby we start trying to let the rebs win, as thus we win. But not too hard or we might be discredited....
would a protestor (who wins if the reb wins) vote for the scummiest player? NO! Because, they win if the scum (rebs) win.

@ZAZAK is it known who is appointed by the vizier to the 2 offices?

so, everyone is scum until they get picked to be town....fun times were had by all, but a ton of sweat for Lift!

Lift ought to pick people who don't want the office, because only scum can win in office, and the rest of us win when scum win. Of course, he ought to see this as WIFOM.

zazak09: The first session of court begins! This phase will end once Lithrasil appoints two people to join the government (over private message), or will be chosen randomly on Saturday evening. You may start posting now.
Hello all, my name is Krabbe(Crabbe?) of House Slytherin....how is everyone this fine evening?

I would also like to take this time to state that I will be taking bets on winners and losers(players and sides) in the alley behind the bath house and also answers to the following question: Who should the town cop/guard investi-guard? o.0

Also any questions/concerns/suggestions?

Cadaver747: What is scum in this situation, rebels or both parties (rebels and loyalists)?
Likely loyalists are the town equivalent, rebels are the scum equivalent, and protesters are likely the third party equivalent(with the ability to become town under certain conditions, but otherwise allied with scum/rebels).

SirPrimalform: But the theme is inherently political. As soon as GameRager posts here you know it's going to be locked.

Lifthrasil: So. We have Pooka who is very eager to join my government. Cadaver, who does his best to please me. ZFR, who outed himself as bad guy by assuming that everyone but me (himself included) is a bad guy. And SirP who fools around.
But if ZFR is a protester/bad guy and you pick them they become a good guy, right? Unless it's all part of ZFR's plan.....o.0

OOOOHH THREE nominees for execution!

Yeah, obvious now I think about it...

avatar
Microfish_1: @ZAZAK is it known who is appointed by the vizier to the 2 offices?
It is not!

So the game goes like this:

Game begins: Everybody against the vizier, they all try to trick the vizier into electing the two rebels.

First Intrigue Phase: The crafty vizier has swapped someone' or two people's win condition! Now it's 8 versus 3, or 9 versus 2. It's hard to tell? INTRIGUE!

First Regular Court Phase: We have three nominees for election! One put up by informed lifthrasil, one put up by our informed rebel allies. One put up by our clueless imam who's just trying to do his best. Oh yeah, also someone probably got assassinated by our informed rebel allies... why do we want them to win again?

Aaaaaaaand it carries on like that, with the rebels and protesters trying to assassinate and execute loyalists, and the loyalists trying to get the rebels executed, and replace themselves with protesters when they get picked off.

As I understand it.

JoeSapphire: snip
As I understand it.
Thank you for the explanation, as it seems to coagulate along the lines that I was drifting towards.

I forgot how much fun playing with y'all is in early days of a game while we are trying to hammer everything out (and about?), and I sorely needed these 100+ posts today, so thank you very much for making me laugh several times as I read it!

Yeah, so I'm town, from the spaceship The Musical. We still haven't had it yet, so none of y'alls can denounce me as not being from it! Just for the record, i'm a not gonna be a'singing, so you'll never know if I can sing or not!!! oh, and you ought to ignore the cattle stampede last night--I assure you that it wasn't caused by my singing! It was the other guy's singing!

Including mine? I hope mine was fun to read as well. :D
So, one candidate is still missing. I'll wait for Lonzi to appear or at the latest for this evening. Then I will nominate my fellow government members.

It goes without saying that someone who doesn't appear isn't eligible for these lofty offices. All others may be. I won't tell yet, whom I consider for the two open positions.

yogsloth: OK, well, anyway, I'm a minor noble. Do with that whatever the fudgepuppy you want, any of youse. Somebody ping me when I need to make a decision of some kind, and then explain to me what I'm supposed to do in very small words.
Wait a minute. I think the OP states there are no minor nobles. Unless I've missed something you've slipped up

avatar
supplementscene: Protestants that aren't Imams probably don't want to be in the first round of Govs. Because in the event the Imam isn't in government he will nominate the government members for execution
avatar
JoeSapphire: IF he can work out who they are - the government is kept secret.
avatar
zazak09: - If the Grand Vizier is assassinated, then the game will enter a special court phase. All members of the government, and a third person chosen by the Imam, will be nominated to become Grand Vizier. Whichever nominated player receives a majority of votes, or the most votes before the phase ends, will become the new Grand Vizier.
avatar
JoeSapphire: If lift is assassinated on the fist turn, everyone will probably just claim their actual role and elect the other rebel to win?

So let's say Lift appoints Joe and that traitorous young scumbag Yogsloth. Lift turns up dead the next morning.

"WHO DID THAT?" says yogsloth mockingly. "just kidding, it was me. There are currently 10 players in the game, and nine of them aren't on Joe's team. Who wants to win with me? Hyuck hyuck hyuck"
"I do!" choruses all y'other wankers. "Then let's vote for my teammate Microfish! says yogsloth."

Lolololol. Joe Loses.

^ PROBABLY this doesn't happen, because there is no discussion during the special court session? That must be the case.

Okay okay okay.
If Lift is dead - the next Boss Daddy will not choose you or Yogsloth in gov again. And your win con will be to see a Rebel victory

Assuming you aren't Rebel scum anyway, I kind of think you might be, you're very keen to be in gov

7x Minor Nobility (protester)

- No power

Win Condition: The rebels control a majority of government, or a rebel is Grand Vizier. If you are appointed to the government, then your win condition changes to the loyalists.
@GR yes. :D

No.

This is not seret Hitler where a government gets chosen every round.

Once you're chosen for government, you become a loyalist for life.

Initially everyone is a protester (+2 rebels) vs Lift.

Then Lift starts choosing people to join him. If he chooses you, you become a loyalist for life. Unless you're a rebel.

So basically it's Lift vs Rebels vs Protesters. Protesters start as pro-rebel but get recruited to Lift.

In the event the Grand Vizier is killed by a Rebel we have a new Grand Vizier. If you are the new Grand Vizier you're not going to pick either of those players again. Doesn't the Protestor going back to having a Rebel win condition? Because he can't win if he is not in government

I've re-read the OP and this isn't actually clarified but I'm pretty sure the wincon is for Rebel victory when you can't be in gov again.

The next boss daddy would be stuck with me and yogsloth in government, (assuming me or yogsloth weren't the ones promoted to boss daddy) and would be facing the painful decision of which of us to kill.

There isn't multiple governments formed like in secret hitler - Lift picks his government now, and that only changes if members of that government die.
