But, you know, 5 is not equal 1 :D I'd rather not call Miss Logic here. At least not to tell here that we expect her support for 5=1 ;)
My first assumption was we should not use mathematics here, because there are obviously no mathematical operations performed. Numbers are just objects. Ordinals from left side are successively added (which means moved, because there is no mathematical addition there) to the sequence on the right.

But I also think that person who created the puzzle may expect 5=1 as an answer, indeed.
