Example of laziness - redownloading games despite the external hard drive sitting within arm's reach.

*laugh* Isn't that the normal way to go if the game is not totally huge? Externals are just for backup ;-)

I'm with Moon on this one Crow, got your back. It's not "lazy" it's "using resources as properly apportioned."

Not sure, honestly. Just feels weird at times downloading stuff I've already stored.
Starting to feel like I'm sleepwalking through this sale. Hoping for another manic fit to hit sooner rather than later. ;)

Okay, fair enough. I'll chalk it up to me being silly.

ô__ô ! Trippy :-)
Crap...the process of making my character for a 100+ hour game begins. This is going to take a while.

hoho!
is it Pillars?
I suggest a druid with a low constitution, it's an easy win! :P
hey, if it's Pillars, I was wondering if you can customize the outlooks - portraits or such like..?

Ooooh firing up Pillars? I went druid and had a blast, though all those spells made for a bit of "information overload" at the start. So many of the classes seem "fun" though - I suggest a weird one just because ;)

Piece of Information - you can do FULL respeccs at inns for awfully cheap. I think you can even rip your characters race and class for a full restart, and then bump them back up to your current level.

If not, at inns you can ALSO build characters from scratch to take in your party. So if you ever regret not trying out that monk, you can just make yourself one later for cheap!

-laughs- Uh huh, because picking low hit points in an RPG always ends well.

You might, I'm not sure. I always go with whatever the game in question provides, option-wise.

I was also thinking of doing an unconventional class, just to have a change of pace from the standard fighter/mage/thief/cleric D&D structure.
I like the cipher class, the idea of reaching into a person's soul and fucking with it to cause them harm somehow.
Also finding the thought of playing a paladin from a sect that's a combo of respected and feared to be interesting.

Okay, that's very cool. The more options provided, the better. Never a fan of cool stuff sitting on the side, never being used.

Cipher's are supposed to be very good (I never got to play much with one :( - I was a bit bummed and I won't explain why because it's some story stuff).

I forget about the paladin every time! Just reading the manual it sounded VERY cool (those auras are nice). Plus I always liked the idea of a paladin (heavy armor priest / healing / leader character - solid combination).

If you want I can let you know classes for which I never found a party member to recruit in game, in case that might change your mind on where you'd like to go, but with some spoiler type stuff. Of course, if you don't care about using "scripted" / Obsidian created characters with backstories, it doesn't really matter because like I said, you can always build your entire party at an inn if you so choose.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm going in with no spoilers of any kind. It's better that way.

Yeah, paladins are cool in some ways. But it also looks like I'm effectively choosing how I have to respond to every situation once I pick which subset of paladin I want. If I deviate from that, I'll lose my powers, it looks like.

In a way, a lot of the game is like that. It leaves your characters very "open ended" (though they do have roles) but as you level them up and "specc" them you sort of start to define how you use these little guys battle in and battle out. Okay I'll be quiet now - make sure to give updates as you go along! ;)
oh man Pillars sounds way too cool now.
As far as I know, Torment only has 3 classes for the main hero... and the guy always looks pretty much the same :)
