ElTerprise: Don't know what the demo included but i actually played the Soviet and most of the Allied Campaign of RA3. It is pretty dumb. The idea of having a Co-op campaign was not bad but not really good executed imho...
Yes i totally agree. The gameplay of 2 was definitely superior to 1 but the story of RA1 was better (despite the horrible German accent ^^)... :)

Ixamyakxim: Some of the indies are PAINFUL for me to look at. I also tend to dislike pixel graphics - HOWEVER some do a nice job WITH pixel graphics. As a rule I'm not a fan, but I'm always impressed when I find / see an indie that uses them well and to good effect.

I don't remember too much of the story, but there IS one there that much I remember. Hunting other Fallen Angels, that I think were infiltrating and running the government? So your character, said angel falls in with a "Resistance" if I remember correctly.

The game also had a REALLY well done setting - when you hear "angel returned to Earth" you DON'T think dystopian mechanized future - but that's exactly what this game did. Without going over the top with it - felt very natural and really (I remember more of the "feel" of it than I do the niceties and details of the actual content - so probably so - so story with good atmosphere).

Ixamyakxim: I played a few of them during that time - I was a big fan of Infinity Engine, Blizzard, SciFi flight sim and FPS games during that time. I wasn't ever *that* good at multiplayer FPS games (though I used to have a BLAST in Day of Defeat) so I tended to stay away from Quake and Unreal Tournament (though I wish I had gotten into the big vehicle based one).

So I played a lot of the random single player FPS games - random stuff like Requiem, Soldier of Fortune, Kingpin, of course Half Life. And yup, no problem! It was a game I liked, so I'm happy to "talk it up" to someone on the fence or interested about it ;)

Hm....in that case i probably shouldn't even start talking about the geographical errors in RA1 :)

Course, the whole idea is to be done before the sale hits the third round. If you still have a huge list of stuff and you're sitting in the third round, you've probably screwed up.
It all comes down to round 1, or round 2.
With round 1, you can get the jump on everything, possibly get out fast and clean with what you want. (Or you can end up blowing out your budget, leaving you with nothing to buy something good when it pops up for the first time.)
With round 2, you can plan everything out, no big surprises. (Unless of course you end up falling asleep, stuff comes up you can't put off, causing you to miss something and leaving you in the uneviable position of having to chew through round 3.)
