CarrionCrow: You're very lucky. My mom won't touch the things after being traumatized by her ineptitude at Super Mario Bros. -laughing hard- 20 years later, but she still remembers.
My mum recovered from that. When I was young my siblings and I also had a SNES and whenever my mum played with us, she died all the time and we kids found that really funny :D But she also laughs about that now :D

Yep, you're definitely lucky. Mine worries about keeping her mind sharp, but every time I mention using video games to do so, she looks at me like I just suggested she stick her hand in a blender.
I can only imagine how things would've gone if I'd had her try Punch Out. She'd probably still remember being beaten by Glass Joe. -laughs-
All right, time to try sleeping. Have a good rest of the day, everyone. =)

Never played SNES games. I do remember playing (and completing) Wolfenstein 3D with my father as a kid.

AgentBirdnest: Good evening. I just woke up from a dream where I was being beaten up by you and j0ekerr's avatars, while a big red eyeball just sat there and watched.

LaPtiteBete: Whoo, Agent, what have you done to us, to deserve that ? :D
I guess it was payback for all of my whining and complaining :P

Shit I'm old. :P

That and now I want to play W3D again. I have it on my Return to disc. Hmmmmm....

That's a bit radical :D I don't think rushing people can make them feel better...
I think I'd rather give you more hugs.

kojocel: People like me, who bought the original Skyrim, thus not "Legendary" are upset because acquiring DLCs is more pricy than the original game.

Bloody "good business" practices.
Oh, don't remember this to me! :P I bought it too and i thought i could buy the legendary edition and just activate the DLCs but noooo, i can't. That been said, I ain't gonna buy the DLCs from the official page. And that's why i won't buy TESVI until it gets to a legendary edition too in the future..

The same happened with Oblivion: I bought Oblivion near the release date back then. When the GOTY edition came out, i waited and bought it for 10 euros because it was cheaper than buying the expansions seperately. Now i have two Oblivions but without DRM i can install them how & when i want.. Sadly, this Steam thing ruined my experience with Skyrim.

How old? Old as dirt? :P

Makes me want to go back and play the original Settlers. Except i can't, since that isn't sold here on gog and can't install the game from the original floppy discs. :(

Only expansion/dlc worth getting for Skyrim, in my opinion, are the Dawnguard and Dragonborn. The Heartfire dlc is pretty much just a mod you can get from the Nexus.

I just tried to imagine my avatar saying 'group hug', got a good laugh from that. ;)
I'd join in but don't want to spread my germs, they seem to be a bit more powerful today. :/

We all want the original Settlers in here, even though IMO it falls short of #2.

Back to Wolf, and since it's a Free for all thread I don't feel so bad derailing :P, I went ahead and reintalled W3D only to remember it doesn't run on modern systems without DosBox and even that looks like shit. So I did some looking and found a real nice program for it which makes it very playable. Of course you do need the original game to make it work. If anyone wants the link let me know. :D
