moonshineshadow: *laughing hug* Well, I would not mind losing some days ;-)
Doing normal here. How about you? :-)
avatar
Stilton: Normal is good as long it allows you some sleep. I'm still getting pleasant snippets of you voice now and then - sometimes someone's voice sticks in my head like songs can. What's your singing like? Mine's terrible, it scares people. Especially me. :-O
'happy Wednes...Thur....er....today hug*
You really don't want to hear me singing, it is awful :D
But at least it does not scare me and since I live alone I can do whatever I want ;-)
avatar
Stilton: Not at all bad, considering. The stuff already mentioned has kept me occupied pleasantly for most of the day, once I wrestled myself past Windows 7's reluctance to accept its own updates. One day M'soft might get their programmers to produce something that actually does what its told.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Odds of that are very, very low.

For the Windows 10 thing, my thought is, "I'll deal with it when I have no other choice." If I had to pick between Windows 10 and Vista, I would still be debating, and I hate Vista.
Their leapfrog approach to operating systems (or inoperable systems) is weird. This one's not bad, that one sucks, this one more or less works, that one's even worse than the last dud. I wonder what their chances of making it two in a row are? 7 is pretty good overall, which hopefully doesn't mean 10 is going to be a labour of hate. I've heard good and not so good about it, with the good winning so far. Hopefully that'll improve.
Good evening, lovely people of Fred!

I hope the day has been treating you all nicely?

And a special hello to our lovely Viking friend.

Stilton: My Wednes...Tuesday (?) is going well. Gaming and a fresh Windows 7 installation/copy pre upgrade to the perils of Windows 10. The 10 upgrade feels like a necessary evil unfortunately, one which, if I resist for too long, will only come around again and with a price tag. Blaaaah.

Sorry your morning was bad, but good that some gloop bailed you out. Is this a recurrent thing or a one-off? Sincerely hope its the latter... :-)

AgentBirdnest: I always love a fresh install... I hate doing it, but once it's done, the important programs are there, and settings are set the way you like them, it is quite satisfying and refreshing :-) ... Looks like Windows 10 will be much more necessary in the not-too distant future. Future hardware (and some current) will not be supported under anything but Windows 10. Woohoo...

It's complicated. Long term problems I guess, which are sometime better and sometimes worse. The last 2-3 weeks have been brutal nearly everyday. Got worse and worse over the weekend until I finally reached a breaking point today. That's where Ativan comes in @__@ ... I normally try to avoid medication whenever possible, but damn... this was lifesaving.
You're so right about the pleasures of a fresh install. This current one is two days old and working as sweetly as a two day old newly installed windows 7 operating system (that wording is an actual entry in the Oxford English Dictionary). Its quick, obedient, uncluttered and shiny as a star. I'm looking forward to getting it copied onto an external hard drive tonight/tomorrow so when the gremlins start to invade I can get it back with minimal effort.

I feel for you. Long term persistent pain, mental and/or physical, can be a life changer. My doses of IBS frequently reach chronic levels when the only solution is to lay down and wait until I feel vaguely human again. Medication sometimes works - I got some new stuff to try from the doc yesterday - but its a moving target and affected by too many things to make it easy to hit. People are survivors, fortunately, but sometims the struggle to keep faith can be a hard slog. Hang in there. :-)

It's been pretty good the last few hours, thankfully. And how about yourself?

That is great to hear. I am so glad to hear you are feeling a little better.

My day has been a bit mixed, but my evening was lovely as always, so I will stick with good overall. I have messed my head a little which is effecting my sleep, but nothing to worry about.

*big hug*

Pretty sure the world would be collectively shocked if they could keep from screwing up massively for longer than one release at a time.

I see 10 as another OS that makes more of my games broken, and they don't give much of a damn about long-term compatibility.

Good evening. =)

Can't complain here, nothing out of the ordinary.

I like to go with the distraction route - play a really intense game to take my mind off things. 'Course, sometimes even that is a bit too complicated, and I go with the laying.
I hope you'll find the right stuff that works best. IBS sounds pretty nasty :-\ (I had a doctor suspect IBS in me when I was a teen, but after some tests it was determined that I was just a total wuss.)
I'll keep hanging in, thanks. Even on the worst days, I can still manage a couple little genuine smiles. That's really important to me - trying to find something to smile at. It can be hard at times, but I don't give up until I smile at least once in a day :-)

I think with a bit of practice most people can sing reasonably well, and if it doesn't scare you then I doubt yours is really that bad. :-) Living alone is the ideal place to try out a voice, provided the windows are taped over and all of the glassware is packed safely in boxes. That's what I'd do, as well as sound-proofing the room and making sure the roof tiles are all securely attached. I think its safe to say my singing is more like yelling; still quite tuneful though if you're not in the same district. Maybe we could try a duet at the weekend... :-P

Thank you for the blanket, but I am good. The conservatory doors are tightly closed now. :-)

Have you been playing anything fun today? And how are you liking today's release?

Well since you hear your voice differently than other people, it can be really bad without being scary for yourself ;-)

Hi, dddddd, how are you? Long time no tease. :-)

And how's your delightful other half? Still being delightful, I hope.

Have you had much snow up there? We had some the other evening, lovely big flakes which settled and even stayed a little over night. It was gone by the midday following, but very nice while it lasted. :-)

Not yet, no. Figure I will in a while, trying to turn March into the high water mark for game completion.

Not really interested in it. Would go for Deadbolt or Oxenfree before that one, along with looking forward to Day of the Tentacle and Shardlight.

I should have an update on Blackwell for you soon. We intend to play it this week. We were playing through the Sam and Max telltale games, but we decided to just abandon them as we were really not enjoying them.
