It happens. There are always lulls, I think. With so many things coming all the time, it's pretty hard to get excited about everything that comes along.

I've reinstalled Windows 7 ready to copy it to an external hard drive and then update the PC to 10 - its got to happen at some point. I'm enjoying the fresh install of 7 - its fast and light with only the necessary programs installed. Its a shame Windows picks up so much unwanted stuff to slow it down. A basic installation saved to another drive is a very satisfying way to get a good setup quickly back though.

I'll also probably get an external drive for Linux as well - pendrives are not quite quick enough after the experience of a clean lightweight distro on native hardware. Xubuntu or Lubuntu look to be the contenders at the moment. Kubuntu looks really nice, but I've always found it a bit sluggish compared to the other two. And Ubuntu's Unity desktop does very little to appeal, even if it is their flagship 'flavour'.

Yeah, Telltale games always feel that way to me. It's not necessarily a bad thing though - like for Wallace and Gromit, it's just great to have more Wallace and Gromit, even if it is movie-ish :-)
I don't think you'll have that problem with Blackwell either. Hopefully not any problem :-p

Hey, Endre. Nice to see you're letting nature do its thing. The idea of growing my own really appeals. There's a company here which delivers 100% organic and its really nice quality, but getting my hands dirty has a pleasantly primal feel about it.

That sounds like a nice selection. That is the nice thing about the warmer months, lots more crops and lovely things to grow that normally can't be grown easily in the colder months.

That is true. But I also think I am just too picky with getting new games. :-)

I never tried that game, it was gone before I joined GOG. I wonder if I would like that game more, as I do enjoy Wallace and Gromit. I am sure I will like Blackwell, it is not good for my health if I don't. :-)
I did come close to getting myself a game recently, but I just decided to do some gifting instead. Much more enjoyable at the moment. :-)

Plus the high graphics card requirements for many of the newer game rules them out for me anyway.

Very little experience with office stuff, but what I did use was LibreOffice and I liked it. Worked well for setting up some spreadsheets.

Actually beat that one, finally. Got killed a few dozen times trying to figure out a puzzle section until I got my head out of my ass and realized that the arrow was another switch I had to hit to progress. Things went pretty smoothly after that.


Yeah, gifting does tend to feel better than just adding more crap to the pile.

That's definitely a problem if you can't or don't want to spend a lot of money upgrading. With stuff I really like, I tend to find a way to brute force it and make it work anyway.

Depends on the distro i guess. A really minimal one might work. Both good choices - well it definitely is...it's a general problem with KDE systems...because KDE usually has everything included - it's a cool desktop environment but it can be really taxing - also some of the KDE stuff loves to crash... i had it on my Debian system and replaced it with Gnome recently for the moment...really got used that and it's actually a bit faster than KDE.

I have a small second bedroom that I do it in, about 20 square feet is more than enough to grow about 400 seedlings.

Thinking about getting some stuff set up with the roommates. Different herbs for cooking, tomatoes, whatever else comes to mind. (Just have to get enough planters to do it since the ground's toxic, then find a way to protect it all so the cats don't destroy everything.)

Yep. It's pretty good - it still has some compatibility issues (and in completey plucks up the formatting and whatnot) with MS office document which is why still use MS Office - but otherwise i really like it because unlike the Ribbon-system from MS it actually has a useful interface.

Congrats. Are you continuing with platformers or similar games?

I can't really upgrade, so it would have to be a brand new PC built from scratch, and that kind of cost is just not something I feel like spending for a few future games, especially when I still have a big backlog of games I can play.
