gunsynd: Are you one of us a (smoker)?and Good Morning:-)
Pardon the language, but: hell no. Bad enough that I'm the only person in the household who doesn't smoke. I've had bronchitis so often, and am so prone to sinus/breathing infections, smoking would probably kill me if I took it up. Plus, I think it's a disgusting habit. :P I don't nag anyone I know who smokes, because it's pointless as well as rude, but I do make fun of my husband whenever he complains about having to smoke outside in the cold/rain/snow/whatever. ;)

And good morning! (It's still morning, if barely, for me.) I even seem to have gotten through the drama with the sister-in-law without too much pain. (We had a huge fight last night, the upshot of which was her losing internet access because I'm sick of her screwing around online and not finding a job, especially when she knows that her father wants her to move out anyway. After some conversation today, I've compromised by giving her three hours a day access to find work. We'll see how this goes.)

gunsynd: I was being polite,we have other titles for Poms that may be unsuitable for children:-)
No,nothing special at the moment...Still early...
avatar
ddickinson: I was only joking, hopefully I didn't make it sound like I was being serious. Although, I bet in this modern culture someone could get someone arrested for racism from them saying Poms. Such a silly world we live in now.

avatar
CarrionCrow: -laughs- Maybe so.

Does that mean I shouldn't keep an eye out for DRM-free Meat Boy, so you can try it yourself sometime? =)
avatar
ddickinson: Probably not, but then that depends on what kind of game it is. Is it a platformer?

penumbren: What the internet is really for.

Much better than I have been. I'm still occasionally sniffling, which is okay, but the cough has developed into that deep, barking cough that makes everyone within hearing range think I'm dying. -.-
avatar
ddickinson: Perhaps without all the porn there would be no internet. Well maybe just one site. :-)

I'm glad you are feeling better, but it's a shame about the cough. Have a big get well hug *get well soon hug* :-)

ddickinson: You're a smoker. Well that's it, I'm not talking to you anymore. According to this silly society we are now in, you are no better than a murderer. Meanwhile look at all those violent drunks beating that old lady. But no, the idiots are right, it's smoking that should be destroyed, not mindless violent binge drinking. :-)

Sometimes I can understand it, but I would say that much of the time now it's just people playing the race card, or using it to their advantage, or just been too sensitive. But I guess that's the side-effect of modern culture and all our modern comforts, it's making you all into emotional wimps.

That made me laugh. It reminds me of my aunt and her husband. No one in my direct family smokes, even if we had wanted to smoke, my mother would have killed us if we ever tried. :-)

ROFL! Without the porn, I suspect the internet would be a much more boring place - without it, what would we all have to look at, talk about, complain about, crusade for/against, etc.? *g*

P.S. I'm not one of you (a smoker). :-)
Also ROFL! I'm married to man who smokes and is alcoholic; the alcohol is definitely more immediately harmful, but I would like to live without the random coughing-in-response-to-allergic-reaction-to-cigarette-smoke that I do even when I'm healthy. I'm not terribly fond of either habit, but I also feel that it's up to the individual. (Right up until their decisions start impacting other people - then they lose that it's-my-choice argument.) Sorry - not trying to be preachy, because that's also a pointless thing.

On a different note, I'm finally making some progress on these freelance work sites. I just need to figure out what to do for my portfolio now!

Do you think maybe too many anti-biotics?Too many can make a person more suseptible to
actually mending one's body.I only visit Doctor in extreme cases of illness. And yes I've had the
lot including Pneumonia.Had a younger brother die from Whooping Cough many years ago..
My point is too much medicine can be harmful in breaking down the immunity system:-)

Technically the one human race hasn’t changed much in the last 5 thousand years. Oh sure there is much ado about race, or culture, shamefully pointing out the obvious differences among peoples, and individuals, but even both genders sprout from a singular egg.

As for the emotional wimps part, well, that is a strength and a weakness, depending on its' creative or destructive influences... :P

Well if you put it that way, maybe the porn is a good thing. It help to limit us from complaining about race/religion/or whatever else that's different about us. :-)

I feel much the same way. My semi-jokey comment was because most people seem to deem smoking so deadly, while not really considering the dangers of too much alcohol. Just think of how many people suffer because of too much alcohol. You don't get people high on nicotine damaging property, assaulting people, robbing people, killing people. And yet this is still seen as more acceptable in many places than smoking. While I think both are bad habits (having a drink is fine, but too much is definitely not), I feel that alcoholism should be a bigger priority over smoking.

Also, sorry gunsynd. I really am not meaning anything personal against you, or anyone who smokes or drinks. I hope you won't think we are now the anti-smoking lets kill the smokers thread. *sorry hug* :-)

I guess emotional wimps might have been worded wrong, but I'm sure people know what I mean. We live in a culture where people seem to find everything offensive, especially if they can try to sue someone over it.

It can work in comedy too, if the timing is right.

Litigiousness is a modern societal sickness, run rampant and unfettered, one of the fingers of greed, celebrated among the so called elites and their worshipers... it's not for regular good hearted folk. ;)

I think you will find that's what happens in most places in the west, sadly. Like I said, we are in a very worrying society that has it's values and standards all messed up.

Anyway, back to game talk. Has anyone took advantage of this weeks staff picks promo?

Endre is fine.
Glad to hear you survived the weekend without a jail term being involved. I wouldn't have fared as well.
Wonderful that your mum is home.
