CarrionCrow: Hey there. Suggestion - grab as much rest as you can, then see the doctor.

EndreWhiteMane: Unless I feel a whole lot better in the morning that's the plan.
My mother's had some problems with medication, mainly blood pressure.
She changed her medication recently when her new doctor strongly recommended it.
Told her she had wrong meds all along. Go figure.
Obviously Sir Endre you are a lot younger than her, but I thought I'd share something.
Also she's been eating vegetarian quite a lot and been feeling better.
How about a veggie diet month?

superstande: Hello. Sounds like fair fighting, coming up...
Doing good, loving torchlight.
Finding the fantasy genre interesting again.
I have Torchlight but haven't tried it yet. Can ya sell me on it in a few sentences (if you want to?). I'm kinda looking for a new "main game".
dear game developers,

as you build your sickening violence sandboxes in ever greater detail and realism, please leave some options for those of us who who would prefer to not engage in that kind of shit.

I just can't play Dead Island. the game is just completely bonkers. I'm actually a bit upset right now. fuck you, game developers. reign it in, tone it down. lo fi options

I'll try :)
It's a bit like Diablo, yet far from it. The sounds have some resemblance to diablo but they tend to get more cheerful.
Leveling up in torchlight has been great fun and I love the voice-overs. The pet feature is well done and lots of fun too.
If you are going to try it, I recommend the mod that's called embed... something :) You can find more about mods in the game page... just don't put many... I have two.

That DOES sound pretty interesting, I'll add it to my "to play" list, thanks!

I've played it for a while, but found it ultimately boring. It's a lot like your typical ARPG (not my favourite genre to begin with, I have to admit). Aesthetics are more cartoonish (reminded me a lot of WoW). Sound is very good.

It has some nice ideas, for instance you can send you pet to sell stuff, preventing "town-portalling" all the time just to sell loot.

What made me stop playing was:
- The story, what little bits there were, didn't really interest me. I found the gothic atmosphere and story bits of Diablo compelling enough to play that game pretty far, but Torchlight totally failed to grab me in this regard.
- It became too easy very quickly. The thing is, you can find or buy "treasure maps" that teleport you into some dungeon with good loot. Those are fun, and sometimes tough, since you have to beat them in one go (if you leave, they're gone). But playing those, will make you totally overpowered for the main campaign rather quickly. And some of the later dungeons there are huge and are swarming with enemies. So I found myself feeling like I was killing, looting, killing, looting (rarely levelling) for hours on end without any challenge or real progress. Waste of time, basically.

Personally, when it comes to ARPG, I can recommend Divine Divinity or Divinity 2 more than Torchlight. But tastes differ and YMMV :-)

Your coughing does not sound good, you should get some medicine for it ;-)

It's on my wishlist :-)

But to buy it, it either has to become a lot cheaper, or I'd have to run out of other good "big" RPGs first (and I'm still not finished with Witcher 3...). Otherwise I simply can't answer for spending that much money on a new game. Same goes for Original Sin, which I also would like to play very much.

It's not that I don't begrudge the developers getting the full price for the games, but I have a family to feed too and I'm currently the only breadwinner. And I already have more games than I can play.

Good that you enjoy it so much :-)
But I'll certainly not get the game.
