CarrionCrow: Is it that obvious? ;)

I don't mind flowers, I just don't like the bullshit way in which they're utilized.
Which of course goes back to not being a fan of the day itself.
As for the last part, that tactic/approach/whatever is something to avoid.
Not a big fan of pressuring anyone to do anything in general.
I completely understand how you feel. Me and my partner get flowers for each other all the time, often ones we pick from the wild near our home. As I said earlier to adaliabooks, I also don't like the whole forced aspect of the day. The day is a nice excuse for making a little extra effort, but it should not be something that is compulsory, which is sadly how many couples see it. I think if me or my partner decided not to do anything, or if we forgot, then it would not matter at all.

Also, *hello hug* :-)

How are you Crow? I hear you had some power cuts and something about frozen water?

Good evening. =)

Can't complain here. Power went out for a little bit, standard thing when the weather gets bad. No big thing.
Just wasn't expecting it to get cold enough to start freezing water, so that took a bit to work out, but again it wasn't anything major.

How's the fun-filled trip to the in-laws going? Hopefully you've got some sanity left after such a great time.

Also, glad to hear your mother's getting out of the hospital. =)

ddickinson: The dreaded house cleaning. It must be hard work with the owlets there to keep it messy. :-)

A lot of people don't like valentines day, due to the commercialise and the points Crow mentioned. I can take it or leave it. I just use it as an excuse to be extra romantic, but I don't need a day to be romantic, so it's almost like a normal week. I did mention my planes a little earlier, let me know if you can't find it and I will tell you again.

*big weekend hug*
Yes, by chance the baby owlet was out for a wallk with her godmother :-) So I was free to tidy the whole ground floor...
I sa your plans for Valentines Day ; very cool and lovely (and absolutely not commercial) program !! :-)
Oh good, someone is going through hitting all of my posts. :P

I give them an 'A' for effort. I spend all day here, if they want to hit all of them they are going to be here a while. XD

I hope the weather will start to get a bit warmer for you soon. It can't be nice having your water frees.

My day has been, erm, challenging. The usual indirect and discreet insulting towards me from people who think themselves superior because of their wealth. I had to sit through a big banquet, a 5 course meal, with these people, and it was just so dull. They kept taking digs at the poor farm girl about not been able to use the correct forks etc. They soon stopped when I showed them just how cultured we farm girls are, I may be down to Earth and prefer the simpler things in life, but that does not make me an idiot. Then it went to the usually boasting about their wealth and using that as a measure of a persons worth. They seemed to get quite annoyed when I refused to play their game and share about my finances. They know damn well that's it's no where near theirs (my partner's family are very well off, financially), they just do it to be superior.

I'm so exited to have my mother home. It's been on my mind all day, and has definitely help me get through the evening without making a scene about my partners horrible family. Luckily we won't be coming for another family get-together like this again anytime soon, as even my partner has had enough of it all, all the rich people superiority crap. I think all these years with a "common" farm girl have had a bad effect on my partner. :-)

Don't worry about it. The only time rep will ever mean anything to me is if it falls below 7 because when that happens I can't post like this.

My brother's baby boy loves to make a mess. He has taken to getting his books and toys and throwing them everywhere. If you put them away he goes to get them and throws them on the floor again, then runs off laughing so that you will chase him and tickle him.

I knew I shouldn't have clicked that... I even saw the file name in the address...
Yet I click it anyway >__<

You never disappoint.

That makes me smile.

That makes me smile because at this moment, I could sit here eating dry ramen chunks out of my navel, listening to Justin Beiber, thinking really deep thoughts about what reality television show I like most, and I would STILL not be as sad as that pathetic post-clicking motherfucker.

If I was that person, I'd have to drink out of paper cups and keep no cutlery around out of stark terror that one day I'd have a moment of clarity regarding what a useless piece of shit I am and on the spur of the moment shove something into my throat and start spastically sawing back and forth until an artery let go.

One other good thing? If they're clicking on posts, they aren't doing really awful shit instead. Like breeding.

As tempting as that would be, it would just be giving them what they want. They love looking for excuses to seem superior over people, and I think throwing food would definitely give them a reason to carry on their petty games. I don't let them bother me that much. My partner is awesome, and that's all that matters. We can't choose our family (not that I would change mine, they are wonderful), so we just make the best of it.

Which reminds me how we spent Valentines day last year. Our pizza van was just finished being converted so we were on a train down to Colchester. Except this time last year the weather was so bad that we were stuck on the train, when there was problems on the line, in the freezing cold for four hours before it got moving again. We were wrapped up in foil emergency blankets drinking free whiskey from the train bar...
So you could say we're not too bothered about it either... XD
But it is nice to make a little extra effort now and again.
