zeogold: Is it true that the actual Swedish consider him Norwegian?

superstande: It's possible. I haven't really tapped into the whole Swedish Cook Debate :P
Do you ever get the urge to throw your spoons up into the air after making soup?

Sure, all the time! ... But not out of anger. Just for the hell of it :)
There's usually people on the premises so I refrain myself, though.

Empress_Owl: Why don't you rant about games you already own while waiting for new ones ?
LOL I just saw this! I actually had a (brief) chance to do this. I only mentioned the new release because there seems to be a good thread that will spring up whenever something comes out. I'm... always a bit hesitant to start a thread just to fire off my few random thoughts.

Generally there area few fun topics on the first page of the forum but I haven't seen any to really jump into over the last few (my terrible memory put a severe limit on my participation in the "Favorite Demo" thread ;) ).

superstande: Also bought some takeaway African chickpea soup :)
This sounds really good! I have a little coffee shop / bakery near me that does soups every day. One of my favorites is the "Moroccan Bean Soup" which is mostly chickpeas. They actually do quite a few good chickpea soups. Hmm wonder if I should wander over there for lunch today if I can hold off?

'Course, now that it's Lent I'll be turning into a chickpea - I'm planning on doing chi chis and pizza for dinner Friday.

And LOL - took me far to long to realize the last post here was three hours ago ;)

It's okay, I talk to myself a lot anyway :) Well, not really but...

LOL where do you come up with this stuff? C:\...\User\Endre's Thread of Random Pics

Funny story - I once burned out a (cheap, thankfully) food processor / chopper trying to grind dried chickpeas to make flour for an Indian dish. I crushed this guys, then tossed them in the processor, then shifted then did it all again - took me HOURS I swear it.

Lucky now I can just buy the stuff in stores. It occurs to me the mortar and pestle might have been the better approach.

Mortar and Pestle are always better, gives food that authentic 'mad scientist' flavor. :-)
Have to admit though chickpeas (garbanzo beans) are not my favorite food. I'll take lentils any day though.

Yup I like this - mine's even a super heavy stone as well. I was gifted a mortar and pestle once that was purchased at an antique shop "for cooking!" - I smiled and had to explain that what was purchased was actually very light and small and... USED FOR MAKING MEDICINE! Well, I'm guessing crushing things into powder to put into a pill and such. But certainly not for food.

I'm a big fan of lentils too - coffee shop I mentioned earlier does a few really good lentil soups as well. If you're ever bored and in the mood for cooking a soup look for "America's Test Kitchen" Chorizo and Lentil soup and follow the video. It's... really really good. I suppose you could even leave out the chorizo. Actually I lied - follow the method exactly but DON'T use their volumes - you'll end up with a metric ton of soup ;) I'd half or even quarter it - but you get the idea.

Moroccan Bean Soup sounds delicious! :)

Chickpeas and whatever else there was in the soup really filled me up. Got this feeling hours after I ate, "Should I eat something... Eh, I'm still full... Maybe just a glass of water." :)

by the way: there's some steam freebies available now: http://store.steampowered.com/sale/makewarnotlove3/
You can go to any of the free games' page and click install, and they'll all be added to the steam account.

Good evening everybody! *hugs and kisses all round; Also, exquisite freshly pressed applejuice*

I was mentally stuck in a rut for a bit but recieving the results of my exams cleared my mind a bit (nothing below 12 and two seventeens for maths and cellular biology \o/ )

I hope everyone else is having a good evening of it? I see our dearest empress has upgraded her throne room. If I recall correctly that only happens when you have a lot of popular favour, right? *we love the empress day*

Besides all that, I've been busy ... see the screenshots ...

edit: I bet that wasn't how you expected the cold war to end, right? :p

Actually the game started in 1936, but whatever ...

Once I have conquered all of the world, I'm going to play a space 4x game and mod my homeplanet's export produce to waffles, fries, chocolate and beer. And guns. And bunkers for middle eastern dictators. Yeah ...

Nice job, hope you're a kind dictator! :-)
What game is that? I don't recognize it.

That's "Supreme ruler". This one is the last iteration, but 2020 and 2010 are here on GOG I believe. Worth checking out for a tough/fun 4x geopolitics wargame.

He, I mostly get my money from export since all the taxation is going straight back into social security, education and wellfare for the people. While tax rates are high, I run a communist state so all "private" sector revenue goes straight back to the state, which helps :)

So the American's 'll be grumpy for a while before they see it's really quite an improvement and settle down :p

Guarilla rednecks are one of the chief problems in the Belgian states of America at the moment. (the rednecks are the people from Alabama and Texas etc, right?). They don't take well to the Catholic state religion and foreign occupation by the sprouts I think ...

I've been thinking of getting the 'Cold War' edition of that since that's the era I was born and spent my 'radical hippie' teen years in.
Probably have a whole different take on things now. Or maybe not. :-)
*good evening hugs*

So, have I missed anything interesting?
