ddickinson: Good day! *hugs*

How are you? Have you had a nice weekend so far?

Sounds like a nice and relaxing day. Have you seen any games in the weekend promo that catch your eye?
Only Flatout 2. But I already spent my money on games and comics.

I have never been that keen on driving games. They are okay for a quick play, but they do not really appeal to me. But I'm glad there is at least one game that interests you, even if you can't get it yet. The good thing about GOG is that there are always sales.

ddickinson: Good day, everyone!

How are you all doing? Good job with getting Owl to the big 100, you guys are awesome! Did I miss anything fun?

avatar
LaPtiteBete: Hoooo sorry Endre !!! you're right, it was your idea !!! :-O
I'm such a stupid b*tch without memory... >__<
avatar
ddickinson: We will have none of that, madam Owl! I can't stand by and let a wonderful French Owl be so hard on herself, especially not now you are in the 100 club. :-)

Congratulations on reaching the big 100!

avatar
FoxySage: The 10.000th winner gets Fist Puncher. ;-)
avatar
ddickinson: But that game is reserved for Hyper. :-)

avatar
moonshineshadow: So you want us to stop posting here? :P
avatar
ddickinson: Only when we get to post 9,999. Then we must wait for Hyper to make the final post. Then there is no denying Fist Puncher. :-)

avatar
CarrionCrow: Unfortunately, Snowkatt isn't really ever here and D's probably resisting the urge to punch someone at the moment.
avatar
ddickinson: You might be right about that :-).

avatar
CarrionCrow: Problem is, her partner's mother sounds like a stuck-up bitch who looks down her nose at D for working on a farm.
avatar
ddickinson: That's putting it politely. It's the mother and most of her side of the family that are the stuck-up bitches. It seems a lowly farm girl is not good enough for their rich and spoilt circle.

avatar
CarrionCrow: It sounds like she's stuck having to attempt to socialize, so I imagine her chances to use the net are slim.
avatar
ddickinson: Luckily I remembered to bring my iPad :-). My partner is asleep, and I don't sleep well at her parents place, so here I am to bother you guts. Daytime is a no go for me, but at least I can come chat during the night.
Good evening. =)

Gods, nearly everyone there is an asshole? Wonderful.
One upshot, at least - you got the one good person out of the whole family. =)

How much longer do you have to endure their company?
I'll wait for the winter sale. Summer will be time to grow my 3DS collection.
Gotta find a bigger SD card. Maybe a 32GB will do.

CarrionCrow: -Snip-

But yes, such people are all kinds of shitty to be around in general.
avatar
Gunsang: Isn't that the truth. BTW, Russian rap is awesome, да?
I don't really listen to rap very often.
These days, it seems to be primarily very loud electronic music.

You are absolutely right, I definitely have the good one of the family. My partner's sisters and father are quite nice, but the mother and her side of the family are just horrible. They are the kind who inherit or marry in to money, and they seem to think this makes them superior. Luckily I am only here for the weekend.

Not doing too badly here.

Just downloading and burning some stuff to feed a relative's audiobook addiction. Every week, they want anywhere from 1 to 6 more.
But since they don't have a computer or internet, I download them, put them onto discs and label them so the relative can have them.

Aside from that, I'm playing 7th Saga while watching a Let's Play.

Thrilling stuff, I know.

Goodnight. Sleep well when you get there. =)

I have always preferred paper books over audio books, the same with movies. You just can't beat a nice paper book.

The 7th Saga sounds familiar, but not something I can put my finger on.

The weekend promo is very strange for me. I love strategy games, but I can't really see anything that appeals to me at first glance, even thought there is a nice selection. Tzar looks a lot like the first WarCraft game (graphics wise), so I might have a closer look at that on Monday. But I will probably not be getting any new game, there is nothing that I can guarantee I would play.

I just noticed that I reached my 555 rep. Next step is the demonic 666. :-)

They travel a lot for work, so the audiobook format works well for them.
I prefer physical copy books most of the time as well. PDF's and audio aren't nearly as appealing, usually.

7th Saga is an old, incredibly broken RPG for the Super Nintendo. Played it a couple decades back but never finished, so I'm working on doing so now.

Everyone's personal tastes are different, even with genres you generally like.
I'd try to make suggestions, but I grabbed pretty much all the ones I have based on the "eh...it looks like it might be good" approach, and I get the feeling that isn't nearly concrete enough for you. -laughs-

CarrionCrow: ...
I definitely don't like long PDF's. But that's because I hate reading too much on a computer screen. A kindle e-reader is okay, as it's made to look like a book, but I find reading of a computer/tablet screen can hurt my eyes.

I think you are right, the whole "eh...it looks like it might be good" approach is not really me. Perhaps if I played my games more, and had a smaller backlog, then I would share that approach. But as I don't play games much lately, and as I have a big backlog, I just wait until there is a game I must have, rather than just keep collecting games that I might like. Which is why I don't have a wishlist, so that I don't get gifted games that I might not play (which would make me feel bad for getting a gift from someone that I might not play anytime soon, or at all - I could like the look of a game but hate it once I try it, and that would be a waste of a gift). I think I own the games on GOG that are definitely games I want, the rest are just ones I'm interested in.

Tzar is quite good. I had a demo of it years ago and had fun with it. Warcraft is probably a good comparison (from what I remember anyway)
