EndreWhiteMane: Any takers on Sunless Sea yet?
Not me. From what I have seen it's probably not my kind of game. I will have a closer look someday, but it's not one high on my list.

Also, hello, Endre! :-)

CarrionCrow: It got dull fast. Finished off Soulstorm instead, and now I'm trying to decide on a game with heavier content to dig into in between playing some heavy difficulty twitch platformers.
And still he refuses to play Dark Souls.

Is this procastrination or is he just chicken?

Also I think someone might appreciate the irony that earlier I was using the steam browser to check the forums while playing.

Is that game addictive? Nooo, not at all.

Thought about it, but I got 7 items from the sale for less than the price of it.

It's damned hard to drop day one money when you know it'll be part of a GOG sale by June.

I'm looking at it, but I don't know what I'm looking at.

What do you mean, you want reviews?

What's the average play time for a complete blind run of Dark Souls, you think?

I just got done torturing myself for 175 hours with a single game. Need a little break before jumping into another huge one. =)

Even first glance opinions would help. I've been watching it for a while but wonder if it's nearly as good as Rock Paper Shotgun makes it out to be.

A first time run wthout hand holding?

I'd say no less than 40 hours. This game rewards exploration and you will want to explore.

Yeah I'm very curious myself. The drawing of the muzzled shark really has me interested. :D

Right. I want absolutely ZERO hand-holding. If I fail, it's on me, but I refuse to cheat to get through it.

First time playing it, needing to learn everything, getting killed way more as a result, I'd say it'll probably take me double that, at least.

But, take comfort in the knowledge that I just narrowed down the 32 games on my desktop to a pile of 8 that I'll focus on, and Dark Souls is one of them. =)

Whenever I can get my hands on it, I'll mention thoughts regarding it here, unless you or someone else beats me to the punch.

Didn't see that one, it's a good one. Thanks!
And by the way, hello! :-)
A question - why are the Flatout games included in a huge sale for strategy titles?

I get Capitalism's inclusion, that would be a different type of strategic thinking, but strategy nonetheless.
But is a series that I've always heard is about slamming cars into each other while trying to drive fast strategy-based somehow?

The developer or publisher is called Strategy First.

-laughs- That is a serious thematic stretch.
