Checking in to say hello and see who's hanging around.

Vnlr, I'm on your side with the art thing, sorry toxicTom. :-) The way I see it, I'm hopeless when it comes to art but even I could recreate something similar to those stripes. The paintings in the Google link however - not a chance!
Hey, everyone.

About the art debate: your friend might well be right, in a way. "Artistic value" is not really measurable, and it's not the same as "beautiful". I don't like the painting with the stripes at all, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have artistic value. I'm a literature student, and while I hate some of the literary works I've studied, I can still appreciate that they have literary value - and I can have respect for the techniques they employ even if I don't like the books themselves.
Okay, so it's happy hour and I'm drinking sparkling grape juice out of a wine glass with a little umbrella in it and I'm really enjoying it.

Well I think now is a good time to shoot myself. :P

Nah, just roll with it. If I had a little umbrella I'd be taking it out right about now as well.
Good night, I just woke up and it's ten minutes to midnight. And I had apparently left the computer running when I went to bed, fuck. I should probably just have a cup of tea, get back to bed and try to sleep again.

Have a good night/morning/day/evening, whatever suits your location.
You guys don't mind the fact that I'm a cuddlebug?

We don't mind much of anything.
We're easy. :-)
Cuddle away.
Crow, you know who has DoS on sale. That's not nice. :/

Funny you mention that. When I saw it, I thought back to our conversation and said to myself, "Son of a bitch..."

One bright spot, though - if the price is dropping there, it's a fair indicator of how much the price will be dropping in general in the near future overall.
A 40 percent off now can turn into half off by summer, if not sooner.

GOG needs price matching, that way I don't need patience. ;)

Patience...such a colossal pain in the ass. I'd much rather engage in some barely-controlled impulse buy insanity.

(But then again, I did just rent out 7 more games, so maybe I need slightly less barely-controlled impulse buy insanity in my life...)

Took me a long time to figure out where you were 'renting' PC games, I get it now. :-)

I look at it like Blockbuster. I ultimately don't own anything, the proprietors are dickheads and I need to get all the value I can just in case someone decides they want their games back.

Also, I'm a colossal, incorrigible games whore currently using the rationalization of "I need stuff to take my mind off quitting smoking so someone doesn't have to use a tranq dart on my fat, raging ass as I climb the walls and scream endlessly".

It's a perfect storm of bullshit, really. -laughs-

Sounds perfectly rational to me, which is a little scary but...... :-)

-laughs- If you didn't find such things rational, we really wouldn't talk much.
It'd be more along the lines of me talking and you running. =)
