FoxySage: Oh wow. That is a lot. I think at best i own maybe around 40-50? Maybe less... Mostly fantasy books. But also a lot of history books (mainly ancient greece/rome/egypt because that was what i found interesting as a kid), but also old geography books and some psychology books. I also have a lot of 3.5 D&D source books. I love reading about fictional settings and worlds and see how the author(s) built it up. :)

Oh, yeah. I do have some old Agatha Christie novels too that i got from my mother as a kid.

ddickinson: I don't have many geography books (maybe half a dozen at most) or psychology books (I don't think I own any, but I could be wrong), but I do have a nice selection of philosophy books.
I loved studying maps and learning the countries flags a kid. I know, i was/am quite geeky. >.>'

I don't have that many psychology books really. Just a few which i bought due to an interest in mental illnesses and insanity throughout history. I had a roleplaying character with schizophrenia and wanted to do some more research to understand it better. One thing leads to another - kind of like reading the wikipedia; and then i was reading Nietzsche :P.

Nothing wrong with being geeky :-). Do you read all your books? Or do you sometimes buy them and never get around to reading them?

ddickinson: Hello, Agent! *welcome hug*

Have you had a nice day?
*return hug*
Yes, it's been pretty nice. A bit tired due to some medication, but feeling generally pleasant.

Well I'm glad you are doing okay, pretty nice is better than pretty bad.

Hi!

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have hundreds of books, so I don't know how many I have not read yet. Most of those unread books are books I got from my grandmother (lots of old, long, and complex historical books). I generally try to read the books I buy, but I sometimes buy them quicker then I read them. So I usually have a nice pile of books to read, which is not a bad thing, as it gives me books to read during a lul in my book buying.

Good evening. =)

How's your night going?

LaPtiteBete: I think children handle these health problems much better than we adults...
avatar
AgentBirdnest: I can vouch for that... I get the tiniest stomach ache, and I bitch about it for two weeks...
Then I see my nephews... Who still run around and play even if they are throwing up :-\

Hope your owlet gets better quickly. *hug*

By the way, good day everyone! I don't think I've visited this thread yet today.
Thanks, Agent !! ** Tight Hug **
And good day too :-p How are you doing ??

It's always nice to have loads of books. It's great that you got so many books from your grandmother (although I would find the complex historical ones hard to go through :P). My parents are avid readers as well, and we tend to borrow each other's books. My mother goes through them a lot more quickly than I do, though. I'm by no means a slow reader, but she practically devours them.

Hey there. :) I'm just fine. I met up with my writing group this afternoon/evening and we had a nice dinner, so that was fun. I'm also stressing out a bit, though, because I need to start thinking about a topic for my thesis.

I read through books quite quickly. I read all the time, well, at least when I have free time. I prefer reading over TV, movies, or even games. In fact I can't really tell you what the latest movies are or what the current popular tv shows are, as I have not really watch any for a long time, due to me having my head in a book.

No, definitely not fun! Hopefully it'll be over soon. :)
*hugs to you too!*
Yeah, I had a pretty good day. I went to a class about writing my bachelor's thesis, and then I met up with my writing group, which was fun. (Although we didn't actually end up writing anything ...) Yep, it's the same time for me. I was considering going to bed early as I still need to write half an essay tomorrow, but instead I'm looking for thesis topics ... :P

I'm doing well.
I had a rough day yesterday, but luckily Tuesday's gone, and with a little help from my friends, I can see clearly now...

(You can punch me now for making this dumb post >__<)

Reading can be a very nice escape. Good books can really take you away from your daily life to another place, and it's nice that you can enjoy them that much. I used to read a lot as well, but since I'm studying English I've not been reading as much for my own pleasure. I do read a lot of books for my studies, but those aren't necessarily ones I'd have picked myself (and sometimes I don't enjoy them at all). The result of this is that I spend most of my free time doing other things than reading, although I try to catch up in the holidays. (And I love movies! Movies are great. :P)
