Hello, little blob! *return hug*

How are you enjoying your Black Friday? You seemed to be looking forward to it for the last few days.

Good evening! *return hug*

At least you will get Saturday to relax and enjoy.

Oh, and if I may ask, how do you say: "It was all my fault" in German?

Yes thankfully...

Hm...interesting question. I would translate that as "Es war (alles) meine Schuld" (not sure if the "alles" is actually necessary).

Thank you for that. It is indeed an interesting question, and I promise it is not for me to use against you in case I change my avatar and need someone to blame for it when Moon gets mad. Now I have you admitting it was all your fault, and in German, I can safely change it if I want to and blame it all on you. Not that I would do that of course. ;-)

It's okay, Moon is both very kind and very smart, so she will know it was my fault. But we have to at least try and blame ELT, that is the law of the thread. :-)

Well yes of course and no one would dare to question that tradition :)

Alright... i'm struggling to keep my eyes open. Think i'll get some sleep now. Wish you a good night and take care.

Goodnight! Sleep well and pleasant dreams! *goodnight hug*
OH BOY YOU PUT THE CHECKPOINT BEFORE A BOSS FIGHT BEHIND AN UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENE, GREAT GAME DESIGN SPARK UNLIMITED! I'M ESPECIALLY IMPRESSED THAT THE BOSS REQUIRES SEVERAL SERIES OF ATTACKS TO BE DEFEATED BUT IT CAN KILL YOU IN ONE SINGLE HIT THAT ONLY HAS TO GET WITHIN TWENTY FEET OF YOU AND ITS PATTERN IS RANDOM! THIS IS TRULY THE PINNACLE OF GAME DESIGN! GREAT CUTSCENE TOO, I REALLY ENJOY HAVING TO SEE IT TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME!

I'm seriously contemplating just quitting this one. It has some bright spots but the boss fights are just bad and at times border on tedious. I'm pretty sure I'm closing in on the end but the game is just getting worse and worse gameplay wise.

Can't say I blame you for throwing that one on the pile and moving to something else. Sounds like a perfect storm of shitty game design there.

To give just one more example of Legendary's err...legendary game design, you refill your health by using "Animus", basically energy you can pick up after killing monsters. Without that energy you can't heal and there is a limit to how much you can carry at a time. Sounds simple enough?

But wait, there's more! Later in the game you start needing to use that energy to operate machines and stuff, so you have to choose between healing yourself or operating the machines. None of the machines are hardcoded to be mandatory but you pretty much HAVE to use them or else you're stuck fighting multiple boss level enemies AND a squad of enemies at once.

But if you keep reading I'll throw in an extra bit of info! Because it's a checkpoint only game, sometimes you can get stuck with no Animus and nothing but human soldiers (who don't drop it), which means you can't heal or operate the machines. Fun times!

Playing anything decent yourself? By the way, if you're into Doom-like games, there is a decent one called In The Kingdom included in a bundle for a buck over at Itch.io. It's a kinda rough/beta-ish feeling game (and is apparently very short) but it's a good bit of fun for what it is, the other games look decent too (they're all by the same dev). http://itch.io/s/2618/nice-buy-bucko

More bad game design there. If they wanted a difficulty alteration mechanic in the form of machines, they should have provided a different resource. The double whammy was bound to piss players off.

Just beat Hyper Hexagoner on Super Hexagon. Pretty sure the number of attempts went into the thousands. All those failures, just to survive for 60 seconds.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. Can't beat the price.

Thousands of attempts for one successful run? Was it at least fun most attempts?
