had a terribly heavy week, with moped breaking down again. Today I don't have much to do, just cleaning a bit... had a long lazy morning that seemed to only end right about now :) My wife did lots of shopping, got some christmas decos and such.

Uh..that doesn't sound that great - hope you're having a quiet weekend and that you're moped will work again with letting you down again :)
It's decent so far. Well yes there is the Erntedankfest (harvest festival - usually at the beginning of October) which is similar to Thanksgiving. But is more religious than the "normal" Thanksgiving i think and it's not a holiday.

I have never actually celebrated this time of the year, except once in Nepal where they had some kind of festival of light or something :)

No worries, at least Saturday is just gaming and watching movies, a good way to recharge for the horrors of next week :) And I'm getting plenty of off-days from work later.
