Now you hit my weak spot, I hate anchovies SO MUCH I won't even eat a pizza that had them and I carefully picked them off. This is the only true 'gags me' food that I can think of other than sardines. :/
Edit: No, I'm not much of a fish eater other than cod and other mild whitefish.

Not quite sure how well a dog's digestive system can deal with all the sugar in a banana.

Well, apparently they can, but a whole banana is enough to give a large dog a sugar rush. And dogs deal with sugar rushes rather poorly.

Hmmm sardines, a staple summer food, roasted over an open flame, or is that grilled? Whatever may be called it's a meal fit for Gods. But do it outside or the smell will fill the whole house. Hell the whole street will smell them.

Healthy as well. Once upon a time they used to be a death by cholesterol kind of food. back in the days when doctors advertised cigarrettes. Nowadays they're filled with the good kind of cholesterol, the kind that lowers the amount of the bad one.

I'm with you on this one. Anchovies aren't food.

I'm with you on the fact anchovies shouldn't be on pizza. I could eat it on a piece of rye bread though with scrambled egg and bacon on the side.

My wife enjoys anchovies, but also hates how they taste when they are baked into a pizza. A possible solution is to ask for the anchovies to be added after the pizza is cooked, or to ask for them on the side and apply them yourself. She finds this to be a good way to enjoy anchovies on pizza again.

I like all the foods people have mentioned in the last few pages, but I've got also the palate of a Great White shark, perhaps nature's only living dustbin, so you'd hardly call me discerning in my food tastes.

Hope everyone's having a good day. My Christmas shopping is almost done, but there's that mountain of food to buy yet - all that stuff nobody else will eat, plus a lot they will ;-)

The weather's pretty average here; sunny with a slight nip in the air. One thing I can't stand is sunshine at Christmas, it just doesn't feel right. Hopefully there'll be rain/fog/sleet/snow/frogs/Labrador puppies/circus midgets/anything interesting and not sun. But I've a feeling we're heading for another bright warm one like last year. No problem - Christmas is in the heart and mind as much as anywhere, and I'm ready to go.

I live in a climate where we go from 30C in the summer to -40C in the winter. I don't tolerate heat very well, so luckily we don't have to many days as hot as 30C. I don't think anyone tolerates -40C to well, but they aren't too common either. Our common winter range is -10 to -20 and our common summer range is 15 to 25.

The coldest temperature I have ever seen is -50C. My car wouldn't start.

Is 30C the highest the thermometer rises? If so that's a bit chilly.

I have yet to experience a july during which the thermometer doesn't reach 45C at least once per day.

On the other hand, I practically never see frost. It's usually gone after 30 minutes of sun, if there was any at all. So I can't even imagine what -40 feels like.

Doesn't alcohol freeze at -50?

We can get temperatures above 30C, but it's pretty rare. I don't ever really remember anything above 35C. Pretty much anything below -30 is just damn cold.

Yeah, we've done all our food shopping this week, and the presents (what we were getting this year) have all been sorted too.

I do like a bit of snow at Christmas, but as we are working until the 23rd, if it could hold off until then that would be great.

That's a chilling thought (pun intended)

I'd enjoy the warmer winters but 45C for more than a day or two would kill me dead. hummer010's summers are similar to mine but our winters seldom get as cold.
