ElTerprise: Well all personifications of German States and Germany itself are female but the country was referred to as fatherland (but as neutral gender -> "Das Vaterland") but yes is confusing. But then again there is also the Deutscher Michel
Interesting. I have don't remember ever reading about John Bull for Britain. I guess most nations use both. I should really stop trying to make topics when I am so tired. I bet once I am more away I will remember knowing all this stuff anyway. :-)

AgentBirdnest: Oh yeah, that guy... He usually represents the government, but not necessarily the whole country.
I think the statue of liberty is a bigger symbol of the country, and she is a woman.
I dunno... I'm just a an Agent :-p
So the biggest symbol in the US is a French lady? But then why do you always pick on the French when they have done nothing but help you all the time? :-)

ddickinson: Thank you for telling me. I guess some countries just use a he during wartime?

Good morning! How are you feeling today?
Feeling well today so far, sorry your still dealing with the headache.
'Uncle Sam' generally refers to our government and military, taxes go to Uncle Sam.

Glad to hear it. Let's hope you keep feeling better.

Thank you. I have been having them for months, that and the muscle and nerve pain, so I am kind of used to them. Not that that makes them easy to put up with.

How are you liking the weekend promo?

The sad thing is I am pretty sure I know all this about the different nations and their personas, but that I am too tired and warn out to remember it all. *sighs* :-(

Yep!
France is so smart, classy, and cool. Since we can't quite be as cool, we pick on the ones better than us. High School all over again :-p

Well i edited my previous post. Looks like some of those personifications represent the state or nation while others represent the people.
Well Finland is a she I think... The Lady Finland (Suomi-Neito) it's called... sometimes
Lost her arm though back in the day... Used to look like a woman with skirt and two raised arms pre-WW2 :)

That's OK, I'm sure there are Americans who don't really know. :-)

So, there is apparently a fallout 4 and an upcoming warhammer total war and mass effect...

I've been waging a policy of isolation towards the current day gaming industry, and it seems to be working rather well... That looks like a rather big hypetrain (some youtube video in my recommended list made me aware just now) I've managed to miss.

This hyping up stuff is frankly rather rediculous... *sideways peek at the comment section*
