Any thoughts or recommendations on the weekend promo games?
Iron Storm was quite fun, although quite hard as well, and Robin Hood is a nice Commando style game that was fun as well.
Has anyone played the Atlantis games, or Subject 13?
Empress_Owl: Oh... :-| ... ok, then **eat all the too cute snails**
Ho wow, what a nice change of plans it would be :)
I wish you feel better enough to do all that !! Don't worry, we can always make more cute snails later. :-)
I am not really a big drinker, but after all these months of being ill I just feel like going out and having a big girly night out and just getting drunk and having lots of fun. But at the moment I am not even allowed any alcohol, let alone enough to get me really drunk. But then even when I am able to I will probably not get too drunk, just nicely drunk where I can still enjoy the night and remember it all in the morning. :-)
ElTerprise: Not much..trying to rest today - maybe reading a bit.
Have you anything planned for today? That sounds like fun.
Nothing really planned so far, I am in quite a bit of pain today, which limits what I can do. I am hoping the hospital calls with my results, but that might not be until next week, other than that I am just trying to be supportive to my friends family as she sadly died yesterday, which has me a little down at the moment as we where quite close and she was way too young.

Yes. It's really enjoyable. Love the books. Still have to start reading the second of the novel series though...

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll get the result - having to wait for those isn't too great i guess.
Oh that's horrible. Understandable that it ghas you down.... that was the thing you wouldn't tell yesterday to not spoil the mood in the thread in here right? *big hug*

Anyway, let's change the subject to something less sad. How are you liking the weekend promo? See anything that catches your eye?

The promo looks really neat. I'm curious about Iron Storm and Amerzone.

I have not played Amerzone yet, but Iron Storm was quite fun. It is nothing big, but it was a fun FPS. I liked the setting, at least at the beginning of the game when you were in the trenches. It reminds me a bit of Chaser, which I found to be a good game as well. It was a decent length game, with a nice mixture of areas (although I wish it had stayed in the trench setting), and the guns were nice. They are nothing spectacular, no incredible storylines and things, but just good basic FPS games. Although they are both very hard. I had to play Iron Storm on easy to really enjoy it, as on normal and above you can be killed with one shot, especially from the snipers.

Sorry everyone, I seem to have lost track of things... *waves and hugs to any new arrivals*
I've only played a few.
Raptor: Call of the Shadows is a really fun vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up. It is actually the reason I found GOG - I Oogled Raptor to see if it was available online anywhere. It's similar to the freebie Tyrian 2000, but with a *slightly* more realistic setting (only slightly, as some missions take place on Mars in Raptor, if I remember right :-p)
The Syberia games are nice and charming little adventure games. (They are French games, so of course they are :-)) They are not the best adventures, and personally, I could complain about them all day... but still, they are decent enough, and I certainly don't regret playing them :-)
And Haegemonia is a space game. I don't have many of those :-) (It's in my backlog. Haven't tried it yet.)

The story / setting seems rather unique for an FPS in Iron Storm - that's why i got interested in it. Hm Chaser - i think i got that when Nordic returned. Will have a look at that one too. Playing a FPS again would be nice :)

Well then we should be very thankful to Raptor for bringing our lovely Agent here. But I still won't buy it as it is not my kind of game. :-)
I have many of the games, but as usual I have not played them yet. There are a few that look interesting, but some have quite mixed reviews and none are really high priority games.
I keep meaning to try a space game, I have Nexus from a promo at some point, but I have never tried it yet.

I have a few space RTS games... Haegemonia, Nexus, O.R.B. ... I'm pretty sure those three are the same game though :-)

I remember a game about you being the last of your kind and you manipulating the different races to get them to live in peace, I think that was a space game, but I am not sure what game it is. You controlled what technology to share and things like that.
How about this space game, it looks like it could be fun: http://webmonkees.com/arcade/images/proj1_logo.jpg
