l0rdtr3k: Good afternoon my feathered friend *hugs*
Is your shit games list growing? Are you gonna play the infamous Ultima IX?
avatar
CarrionCrow: My thoughts exactly. =)

I don't mind a calm game, I'm not actively looking for ways to drive myself crazy. (Stop laughing. ;) )

2 stars? Some of the biggest shitpiles on GOG have a better score than that.
Crap, if I had more cash right now, I'd buy it as a goof and figure out what people are finding so bad about it.

l0rdtr3k:
Good afternoon. =)

I don't think so...

Iron Storm is garbage based on the little I've played of it, Kingdom: The Far Reaches is supposed to be awful, Master of Orion 3 is supposed to be really, really bad...what else...Megarace 3 will have some terrible FMV stuff, from what I've heard I'll be lucky if I can even get Messiah to run...Return to Krondor's a massive disappointment compared to Betrayal from what I've read...I've been hearing for years that Simon the Sorcerer 3D is total crap, and I've heard that Star Control 3 is supposed to be like Master of Orion 3 - a total piece of shit compared to earlier entries in the series.

So that's 8 things out of 172 on my wishlist that will be shit games for one reason or another. -laughs-

And yes, I do plan on doing Ultima 9 after I do the rest of the series. Can't get the full effect without knowing how far everything fell. I've seen a series retrospective, but that's not the same as actually playing.

Mornin' Hyper, good start so far, how about you?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Hmm... let's see, I finally fell asleep around 07:00, only to be woken up an hour later by a phone call asking me to fax my mother's death certificate (part of the bureaucratic stuff I'm dealing with).
Less than two hours later, my brother called me to say that Google had locked him out of his email account and he couldn't recover it, i.e. basically asking me to troubleshoot and fix the issue for him.

I'd say both qualify for a good start, what do you think? ;-P
Ummm, yeah. :(
Hope your 'rocky start' gets better quick. ;)

EndreWhiteMane: The news post starts out "God damn hippies!" which really is pretty inappropriate. That may be part of the reason. "Damn hippies" or something would be much better for an international site I would think. The game gets better (75+) reviews elsewhere.
Ouch...didn't even notice that at first.

I don't have a problem with any kind of "foul" language, but when you're doing stuff for a worldwide game site and you're trying to sell a product using words, that might not have been the best move to make.

GhostwriterDoF: Greetings and salutations to all, and to all a good day...

I lost my old tinfoil hat during the last alien invasion (non-terrestrial),
so now I’m getting the feeling that I should make a new one.

I’m not really sure what the styles are in this age,
as my fashion sense is rather antiquated.
Methinks the classic Viking helm is definitely out of season.

Should I go with a nice Top hat, or a Derby?
Derby, you can keeps snacks in there in case of an attack. :-)
We need more cheaply made FMV games. I miss those.
And yes,K:TFR and Simon 3D are as bad as everyone says. U9 is more of a so bad is good for me.

I don't either but that one shocked me enough on the front page to write to support letting them know that was a bad thing for where I come from.

Well, the Top Hat has better storage space, but is less aerodynamically sound...

Perhaps a good selection of music can help you get through the day?

Top hats get too 'Top Heavy' when full of snacks, and they get in the way when ducking under things when escaping attackers. ;)

Attackers, where?

I’m talking about getting invited to the After-Invasion Alien Alumni Party.
Non-terrestrials are impressed by our Terran tinfoil hat art... :P

Life on Life's Terms, you said it. ;-)
I'm calling my friend a bit later hoping to hear that she's doing better today than during the weekend; that should fix everything. :-)

Does it have to be either a Top Hat or a Bowler? Mine is a Fedora, but since it's Winter, you could go for a Chullo and switch in Spring.

I do have my uplifting collection, but am open to suggestions.

moonshineshadow: That is good to hear :D
My day could honestly be a lot better...

Morning to you :-) I just remembered about the weekend promo, did you get the bundle yet?
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Thanks for remembering, decided to save my pennies for now. ;)
ok :D I just thought I should check with you since the promo will end before I get up tomorrow so I would have bought it this evening ;-)

I do prefer the Fedora, and wore one to the last party, but will need to out-do the last hat to get noticed
and get an invite to the party next time.

Hmm, well that depends on mood, and range of music interests, though for a day like today,
I would suggest the soundtrack from the game Evil Genius, it is light hearted and will remind you
that your fellow GoG tribe members are thinking about you and wishing you well. ;)

Good day, everyone!

I'm back from my lovely flight, it was awesome! I never got to have a go at piloting, sadly, due to the winds picking up. But it was still lots of fun, especially flying in the open air.

How are you all doing? I hope your day has been going well so far?

avatar
EndreWhiteMane: DD, my acrophobia would rule out the biplane for me too, but I hear there very fun. Still use them around here for crop dusting, also very good for places with no landing strip, they can take off and land in a very short distance. Have fun! ;)
So you wouldn't go up, even if it meant you would meet some pretty WAAFs? :-)

avatar
HypersomniacLive: That was such a depressing and at the same time inspiring experience, thanks for sharing.
That could sum up life - depressing and yet inspiring at the same time. :-)

I never meant to tell a depressing story, so sorry about that. I got a little bit off track and ended up rambling. I just meant to say that having someone there with you in such times can mean so much to a person.

Now I have to wonder what circles you socialise in...

That's a nice idea and a sentiment, cheers. :-)

No need to apologise, and you didn't ramble, it was a great experience to share.

Sorry no, but I could be part of the ground crew! Yeah, that's the ticket, ground crew. :-)

Edit: Hey, wait a minute, they didn't use biplanes in WW2! You're tryin' to trick me into joing the RAF, sneaky. :-)
