The first one was, and the battle parts of the other two were good, but that storyline and characters of the other two just got horrible, IMO. :-)

Agreed. The first one, to me, feels like the last really great action movie. I haven't enjoyed many since then.
I didn't even see the third Matrix movie because I was so disappointed with the second.

The plot made no sense really, especially as the movies went on. It became more about CGI and big battles I think.

Not much sense, no. Still, it was a fun movie. There was some CGI in the first one, but it was one of the 6 or 7 movies where the CGI actually looked good to me.
