CarrionCrow: But odds are pretty small that I'll ever see that 95 percent of all organized religions ban, no matter how many people get slaughtered as a result.
Religions are all a pile of crock. Understood as philosophical treatises, they're harmless (if poorly thought out). Their main problem is that by their very nature they're dogmatic, which more or less means, Leave your brain here you won't need it anymore.

And if you think about it, there's a lot of people who are just queuing up to take out all that excess weight in their heads.

Empress_Owl: I agree... do you think we are ready for another world war ?
A firm approach wouldn't be so unpopular, thinking there are more and more scared, angry and hurt people who gently slide to xenophobia here... i wouldn't be surprised if we have an extremist right fool for president next time...
It would not be a world war, nor would it really be a war as such. What is needed is a lot tighter border control (not this stupid EU system), and we need to be tougher about immigration, and then we need to ensure people settling in Europe live by European values, and that those who wish to hard others are dealt with properly as a deterrent to others who would try to hard the innocent. I know that in the UK they are always catching people who were plotting terrorism. A perfect reason why hanging should be brought back. They are traitors, and should be pushed as such. At the very least those who can be deported should be, especially those who commit major crimes.

It would be unfortunately. Many people will defend all these P.C. and equal rights crap (not all is crap, but a lot is) just for the sake of it, to make themselves feel righteous. While I think more would support more firm action, the politicians are too scared to make that step towards such action. Sadly I think it will get much worse before people do what is needed to ensure we can go back to how it was not too long ago and we did not have all this terrorism to the extent it is today.

superstande: sure if you are curious ;)
"Mackie's Soup Classics Cream of Mushroom Soup Mug" - says the title. comes with a mushroom soup recipe. don't know who Clare Mackie is but supposedly an award-winning lady. And my mother's a professional mushroom picker ;) after her retirement at least.
Oh, very cool :-D Just Oogled it and found a pic.
... I love cream of mushroom soup :-þ,',','
Good morning to Owl lady, EIT, Super and Joker Rabbit. =)

Apologies, got sidetracked, now trying to catch up.

Could try to spew out some cliched "don't feel bad, it's gonna be all right, promise!" dogshit at you, but you know better.

ddickinson: A walk sounds nice. How is the weather there?
There's some blue sky visible behind the clouds, rather bright. It's warmer than usually in November. not a bad day for a walk. +5 celcius.
Do you have any plans for today?

Empress_Owl: I hope your stomach will leave you alone...
Did Karen eat JJG ? She seemed to like this paper work particularly :)
Thanks.
Ho yeah, she did like this one n__n ... I hope she ate him. And hopefully the paper had voodoo properties. That guy needs to stop making music :-)

We have dark clouds here, but then we have been having quite a bad storm these last few days form a hurricane. The day is nice though, a cold wind and at least it is not raining yet, so maybe a nice walk would be fun. No big plans for the day. I am home alone for a while my partner gets some things done, then we will just relax at home.

ddickinson: I think we are getting better, but we can't just instantly remove our more primitive cultures. But then can we ever? There are lots of kind and lovely people, despite all the animals. But I think that has always been the case. It seems some of us can progress from the cave men we started out as, but there are still many that keep those tendencies and decide to act like the animals we used to be, or rather the animals we are and are trying to change. A good start would be for the laws and politicians to stop pretending we all live in a utopia and make laws that are relevant, not just weak laws to please the vocal minority who behave like hippies with their heads in the clouds, unaware of how things really work.

Thank you. I should know in a few days if this health stuff is going away, which I really hope it will as neither the doctors nor myself if I am honest think I can deal with another big set back. I have already had two which nearly killed me in the last few months and I am not sure my body can cope with a third one.
Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Getting better? Not really. Holding pattern of sometimes better, sometimes a whole lot worse? Sounds more reasonable. But then, I've always thought of myself as a bit of an optimist by nature.

The tricky part of the whole equation is what to focus on - conversion, or extermination. You can't have both. Start killing thousands of people, and odds are, you'll be generating martyrs by the truckload.

What to do, what to do...can't really go for hearts and minds, everyone's already been programmed. Course, from there you end up with a whole lot of people to kill.

Will keep fingers crossed for a favorable result.

Empress_Owl: **big hug back**
I'm ok too... can't think about anything else though
Not surprised about that....still have those spooky bangs during the broadcast in my head...now that i know what those were...

ddickinson: I am feeling good, thank you. A few of my health problems are scaring me a little as they are showing similar signs to when I collapsed previously and nearly died, but I am hoping they will go away soon and it is just a last little thing before I start to recover. At least I hope so.

My partner really enjoyed her birthday, it was a great day and was just what she needed to cheer her up after her family have been giving us both a lot of cap recently.
I do hope you're keeping in constant touch with your local apothecary and not just relying on your in-built resilience. Remember that only Astartes have extra backups of everything. And Krogan. You are not a 200 kg frog turtle are you?
Sing her Happy Birthday (now that Warner doesn't own it anymore) from me. I do hope you had ice cream cake, that's the bestest cake there is.

Too bad the only politicians who would really do something are also extremists here... :-( I wouldn't want to have those as a government, even for a peaceful world... (most of) their ideas are total crap.

Any religion based on superiority, any religion that wants to tell you how to live your life, and what a piece of shit you are if you don't follow every rule to the letter, any religion that tries the invisible person carrot/stick routine of eternal bliss for blind devotion and eternal damnation for independent thought?
Total garbage, a multi-headed hydra virus for the mind, ground in over thousands of years by the power-maddened, the obscenely full of shit, and the pathetically, psychotically zealous.

Of course there are. Everything from rape, to mass murder, to torture, to slavery, it's all acceptable once you take your mind out of the picture and just follow.

Sadly there is nothing my apothecary can do. And you do know we Battle Sisters are much tougher than the Astartes? We did best them during a certain siege and fight them to a standstill. They only won due to the intervention of the Emperor himself, ending in the death of a great traitor. :-)

But sadly my condition is at such a stage that there is no longer anything really that can be done. It is all down to my body repairing itself, which would be hard enough as it is, but after twice nearly dying these last few months that has put so much stress on my body that is is difficult. I am still pretty sure I will beat the doctors guess of me not making it to Christmas, so no need to worry if things carry on.

Thank you. No ice cream, but a lovely home made cake. It was not perfect, but then I am not a professional baker.

I agree... I hope Karen won't be ill, or that she won't start to sing JJG's songs on the other hand !
